SOURCE: Sears 41A4315-7E garage door opener trouble codes.

4 FLASHES TELLS YOU THAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE SAFETY EYES.

THEY MAY BE OUT OF ALIGNMENT OR HAVE A DIRTY LENS.

BE SURE THE EYES ARE CLEAN, MOUNTED SOLDILY AND AIMED CAREFULLY.

THE LEDS SHOULD BE LIT BRIGHT AND STEADY (NO FLASHING OR FLICKER)

NOTE: IF SAFETY EYES ARE MOUNTED TO THE TRACK THEY MAY MOVE OUT OF ADJUSTMENT AS THE DOOR GOES UP AND DOWN. - ADJUST TRACK

HOPE THIS HELPS

SOURCE: I have a Sears Craftsman HBW0777 Garage Door

I had the same issue yesterday with my remotes which are model 850CB. I fixed it by following these steps on Chamberlain's help site:
1. Press & release the "learn" button on the motor unit. 2. Within 30 seconds, press and hold the button on the remote. 3. Release the remote button when the light bulb on the motor blinks. It has learned the code.

http://help.chamberlain.com/help/en-us/programmingInstructions/ and enter your remote model number for re-programming instructions.

That worked for me. Not sure why it "lost" the code in the first place. By the way, I only had to do this for one remote, the other started working after the first was re-learned.

SOURCE: I have a craftsman garage door opener and recently

Anytime a door opens and/or closes randomly or doesn't work consistently I look for a smashed wire between the motor unit and the wall button.

If the wire is smashed the insulation becomes so thin that power will leak thru the insulation and activate the door or interfere with the remote signal.

Loosen the staples with a small screwdriver and slide the wire about ½ inch to move any areas of thin insulation away from the staples.

The second thing would be a bad wall button or a remote with a sticking button.

Or a remote in someone

SOURCE: chain on garage door not moving motor working fine

Most likely the chain has come off one of the gears, or is stripped. If you look at the chain from one end to the other you should be able to see this . There should be a gear up by the motor and another close to the door. If the chain has come off, you should be able to put it back on the gears and adjust the tension so that it does not come off again. If you are handy, you can replace the gears if that is the problem. If not, you will need to have someon replace it, or if the opener is old you may need to replace the whole unit. They don't last forever.

CAUTION - Don't ever adjust the springs on the door itself. Doing this may result in injury or death! If you are unsure about a garage door, it is probably best to have someone come and fix it for you.

All garage door openers have a quick release. Have you checked to make sure that is locked in place? Most have a cord hangin from it and you pull it which releases it from the chain. Make sure that is engaged and it should work.

I just installed a craftsman garage door opener and the chain is sagging on one side and super tight on the other. When opening the door, the chain sags on both sides. I have tried tightening the nuts on...

When the door is opening the chain will be tight on one side and slack on the other. When it is closing it will be just the opposite. It is important that you do not over tighten the chain. I suppose the wrong chain could be shipped with the opener but it wouldn't be common.

My 1/2 hp craftsman garage opener won't go down

It sounds like it is out of alignment. The motor does detect excess pressure incase something or someone is underneath and the light sensor is not detecting anything. The pressure on the motor does change from when the door is all the way up to when it has the full weight of the door on the chain before it touches down. The spring offsets most of the weight of the door, but it still takes weight. Maybe when the motor is taking more of the weight, it is still shifting in a way to throw off the alignment. Also, you could disconnect the door from the chain, try manually moving the door and see how much weight the motor is taking at what points. Good luck!

Check the connections at the rear of the motor unit and make sure they are all tight. I would also pull the logic board and check for loose connections on the printed circuit board especially around the small transformer.

Model 139.53930DM I adjusted the chain and now door only goes up 12" (too tight?)

The chain might be to tight but I think you should check for broken door springs or a bad drive gear. The gear is white nylon and is just in front of the motor. The chain should sag just a bit.

Craftsman opener motor works, but chain does not move.

If the motor is working but the chain does not move you must remove the cover on the motor and check to see that the chain is on the sprocket. If the chain is on the sprocket and the sprocket is not moving but the motor shaft is moving then the sprocket must be retightened onto the motor shaft.
