Switching on and off while driving

I just installed a pioneer avic-f900bt as instructed in the manuals. When I m parked the unit works normally but as soon as i drive it starts switching off and on again all the time.At first i was given a warning regarding the handbrake wire.I did fix that but the unit keeps switching off and on again this time without the warning sign. Thanks

It Look like the unit try to update all the time, about the map, when you are parking is not a problem but as soon you move the car the unit reboot, I think that if Pioneer will give us the sequence to reset the whole system, probrably the unit will work again, is just a problem with the map, that look been screw it up.

There is a ground wire connected to a gyro device on the unit. when the vehicle is moving none of the features work. if you take this wire out and attach it to a permanent ground, all of your functions will work regardless if you are moving or sitting still. the only down side is that if you need the unit worked on then you have to put this wire back or it will void the warranty. not to many people want to risk this but i have this done to mine and i have no problems from it.

Its the GPS cable. if you unplug it your system will function. you will not have any navigation, i know, but all your other features will operate. i will let all of you know what happens when i replace the cable.

WHEN U TURN ON THE TRUCK THE IN-DASH TURNS ON AND LOADS UP AND AFTER A COUPLE SECONDS IT SHUTS OFF.... BUT YOU CAN STILL HEAR IT THAT ITS ON.ITS THE PIONEER IN-DASH NAVIGATION AVIC-F90BT.

F900BT?
IF yes then this is normal because the unit is slow to shut off when you turn the key to the start position since there is a surge in amps. from your alternator and starter working at the same time the power surge causes the unit to shut off/ reset its self. this is just to protect the unit it is just to protect the unit.

Avic f900bt always on mute but key sounds and navigation not mute

You have to isolate yellow-black cabel. This cabel was in contact with earth and it was the reason, why you have Mute on the display.

I installed the Pioneer AVIC-F900BT and it has been

Windows CE is used to operate the Pioneer AVIC F series, which yours falls into. That version of Windows has not been patched or updated with the new day light savings times and since the player uses GPS to get the current time and Windows to make the time change for your zone then your time will not update until the orginal daylight savings time occurs. You can try to change the time to manual in the Pioneer settings, deal with the wrong time for just a lil bit longer until the original Daylight Savings Time takes place, or re-search an update and way to update the players OS which is Windows CE. Hope this helps :)

Pioneer AVIC-F900BT bluetooth connection problem.

have you upgraded the firmware on this unit ?
his firmware update (version 2.0) contains important performance improvements relating to, among other things, boot-up time, Bluetooth connectivity (including certain Blackberry models), iPod Touch (v2.0) compatibility, touch screen response, display brightness, and SD and USB media playback.

Dear Sir I installed a pioneer avic-f900bt as instructed in the manuals. When I m parked the unit works ok but as soon as i drive it starts switching off and on again.I did install the handbrake wire too.

I believe this is a safety problem to prevent distractions to the driver since this unit is installed in eye sight of the driver. Parked position is fine because the parking brake is on signifying you are stopped. Once moving it should turn off multimedia functionality. Try grounding your parking brake cable to think it is always on :)

Pioneer AVIC-F900BT settings menu and Navi setting

Hi

I sent just yesterday mail of similar problem. But after some time in internet, I found a tip, which helped me to solve the problem. The only thing to do is just ground the light green wire. If You have joined the wire to handbrake, You have to have Your handbrake on. Actually the manual says something like "some functions are not available", when the instructions to these wires are given. After this mine F900BT is working great!
