Hi the last update sony put out was corrupt you need to go to the
official sony playstation site to get another update this needs to go
onto a usb stick but it will tell you about this on their site, its
only happening to the fat ps3 and its happened to everyone who has one
its to do with the date being wrong so this needs checking check the
date details on your ps3 are correct then go to their site and see what
they are saying about this problem

To update your PSP turn it on,go all the way to "settings and go all the way to the top. Go to network update and connect to a wifi connection. It will connect and download the update to your memory stick. It should auto instal but if it does not go to game and memory stick and update it there.
is this the access point in trying to get on to the internet?
if so then use a psp memory card and look for the upgrade on the computer transfere their file on the memory card then place the memory card in the psp and then it would say upgrade to xxxx press x and then it would start to upgrade
