How many liters of compredssor oil to fill tha compressor tank

I don't know which model of air compressor you own, some models require no oil whatsoever. The important thing to remember is that you should never put oil inside the tank. While it probably won't damage the compressor and may, in fact, be good for air tools, oil does not belong in the tank. The tank itself should contain clean, dry, air ONLY. Depending on the job you're performing, oil and water in the air tank will ruin your hard work, especially if you are spray painting. The air compressor motor does require oil (unless, again, it's oilless), just fill it through the oil filler hole until it barely starts to leak out. You can change the oil every year if you use your air compressor professionally. Most people who use their compressor only occasionally never change their oil or even check the level. My compressor is a 20 year old Campbell Hausfield with the original oil. I don't recommend that, just stating the facts...I do religiously drain the water out of the tank with the drain valve, and I have replaced the drive belt. Once.

Hello - jusy wondering if the the lubricant in the compressor must be changed and if so how often. Thanks!

yeah it must be changed just like oil in a car engine. although u dont have combustion in the cylider u still have wear. think of it as a lawn mower. when u check the oil it should be brown. not black. after its been in there too long it needs changed. the way set service intervals is your own preference and judgement. because even the recomended intervals dont need to be kept exactly basicaly its life of equiptment vs cost of matenence. an air compressor does not hold much oil so the cost is cheap i change mine ofter. u cant over change it. but if u dont change often enough u reduce the life of it. u ether go by what the book says for how many hour of run time before changing it or like i said a little more often to increase life of the tool or you go a little less often to reduce the mantenance cost.
like i said if it my equiptment i change oil often so i know it will last. and just like a car, most air compressors have and air filter. this keeps dust from damaging the piston and cylider. depending on tbhe conditions u run it in you probly want to clean the filter or atleast check it at every oil change.

Gardner denver air compressor is blowing oil, need help

Is this a rotary screw compressor? If so, is it blowing oil out of the air filter or out of the discharge air lines? If it's blowing oil out of the air filter you have a oil stop valve or minimum pressure check valve bad. If oil is coming out of the discharge air you need to change the seperator.

How many quarts of oil are required when changing oil?

Nice compressor! The gx160 engine needs a little more than 1/2 quart. (.6 to be exact) Honda recommends changing oil every 6 mo. or 100 hours with 10-30 for cooler climates and 30 for temp ranges of 60 - 100 deg.. The pump needs about 12oz of compressor oil. I buy the oil at Lowes for less than three dollars. If you work in a very hot environment then use their synthetic oil, (about $7) it will take much more heat and you do not have to change it as often. It is not mentioned anywhere but there is a little air muffler on the pilot valve that discharges air when set pressure is reached that should be cleaned / checked. There is a screen that gets clogged causing heat. Good Luck.
