Do you have a manometer on the machine and if yes, what is the reading when you are pulling a shot, does the gauge move, have you opened the side of the machine to see if the pump is turning, you might have to adjust the pressure on the pump by using the adjusting nut instead of replacing the whole thing.

Im looking to source a wega Mininova espresso machine in SA?

Wega is good, generally, but avoid this Mininova. Tell me if you are looking to a home machine, or for commercial use. Either way, it proved unsuitable. We gave many Mininovas to scrap dealers, having made the mistake of damaging our reputation by promoting them.

wega epu. Commercial machine. I'd check Any faema, wega, nouva simonelli wand will screw into the wega valve.

They also have precision wands from japan. Sproline series i believe it is called.

I have no association with the site but i do know that any of the parts Listed will work.

Wega espresso

Steam out of the top is a bad safety valve.

Steam out of wands when they're off is bad gaskets in the valves which usually means they need to be rebuilt.

Steam out of groups is a water blockage and/or pressure stat is going bad and causing the machine to over heat.

Can be any one of the following. Need more information to answer properly.

Wega Espresso Machine is slow to recover steam pressure

Bad pressurestat or bad heating element. PS feeds power to heating element, heating the machine til its up to pressure, which then turns the pressure stat off. If either of the two pieces are bad neither will work properly.

Could also be the machine is overfilled which causes the machine to take longer to heat up.

Can you damage the solenoid on a commercial wega by back flushing for 10 seconds? I have been told by the repair man that the reason our solonoid busted is because we are back flushing too much. We only...

No you cannot damage a solenoid in 10 seconds, if so then the advice that I give to all my customers who never have a problem is wrong. Have him check the pump pressure that might be set over 9 bars and or the expansion valve is not working. Here is a copy of the backwash page that I give to my customers:

Shots too watery

1, Check the grind on the grinder. Imagine grounds as rocks and sand, if you are using rocks then the water will run too fast and with sand it will run too slow.
2, If using an automatic machine(water volumes are pre-measured), check to make sure that you are getting the correct volume(3ozs fro a 2ozs shot, and 4ozs for a 3ozs shot), an once of water stays in the coffee during extraction.
3, Adjust the tamp(packing pressure) of the coffee, fill the portafilter with coffee a little over the top, then level it out and tamp to the fill ring on the inside of the basket.
