Hi,
A hard reset basically wipes all information stored on the drive.
Download the software to flash it from here.

You push the wireless, power and reset buttons to get to the flashing menu.

Hope this helps

The Dell is unable to complete the startup, you may have a software issue, or a hardware problem, this might be fixable by reloading the rom / firmware / software into the pocket pc. If that doesn't solve the problem the last option is to send the device to dell repair service, I will have a look around and let you know if there is a software update available and if there is I will post you the instructions soon.

what is the operating system currently installed on the PDA, 2003 se? Have you done any updates to the OS?

This system update will reload the software
    http://support.dell.com/support/download...

Download and run the exe file on your computer, it will extract the files.

You will need to have Active sync 4.5 or newer installed.
connect the device to the computer.

go to the folder you extracted the files, and run the AximUpdate.exe

If any problems come up, let me know.

If you are unable to reload the software into the pda via usb, the update needs to be done on SD card, with the pda in bootloader mode.

The rom is included in the exe file and is extracted into the folder you selected.

what we need todo is to write the rom into a sdcard, we can't just copy it, it needs to be written into the sdcard with a special program. and then the pda needs to enter bootloader - program rom from sdcard.

I will have to look into that again, as I don't own this model myself.

  • Ekse Jan 14, 2009

what happens when you run the axim update? without the pda detected by active sync?

  • Ekse Jan 14, 2009

Right now I need to know what version operating system was installed on the axim? 2003? 2003 se? wm5? wm6?

Also note if we are unable to load a firmware into the device even on bootloader, then there is no other option but to send it to repair.

Attempt to start in SD Bootloader mode by Pressing Wireless + Power + Reset.

Does the Bootloader mode work? are you able to enter to it?

Hold the wifi button together with the power button.. than push the reset butten. Release the wifi and powerbutton and you're in the SD boot menu (when using the record button in stead of the wifi you'll enter maintenance mode)

If that doesn't work you can always reflash it. If you need to do that let me know and I will get you a guide and walk you through it

Note: Pushing the wifi button, power button, and reset button is how you are able to flash with a new ROM or Firmware.

I have a dell axim x51v stuck on dell logo

First check to see if any of the buttons are stuck. If that doesn't help, try a few simple things with the digitizer, the thing you write on. It could be stuck. If there are any gouges, dents, deep scratches or cracks, that could do it, it's toast - but self repairable if you dare. -However- 2 things to try first just for giggles though if there are no cracks: #1. Use your joystick & enter button to navigate through the Start Menu to Settings>>System>>Screen>> Align Screen and align the screen. Worth a try. #2. There might be some crud stuck between the edge of the digitizer and the edge of the case. That can give you phantom key presses. Take a piece of stiff paper or thin plastic and run it *gently* around under the edge where the case covers the screen to scoop out any stuff that may have settled there. Those blister packs that cut you up when you try to open them works well, credit card is too thick for my taste. #3. If it's been around water, there's a very slight chance that putting it on top of the clothes dryer for a few loads will dry it out.Beyond that, needs technical help.

Palm T3 frozen, tried restart in hole, nothing?

Doing a soft reset A soft reset tells your handheld to stop what it's doing and start over again. None of your information will be lost. After a soft reset, a screen appears that lets you reset the date and time, if needed. To do a soft reset, use the tip of an unfolded paper clip (or similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press the reset button inside the hole on the back panel of your handheld.

If a soft reset does not unfreeze your handheld, you need to do a hard reset. Doing a hard reset Only do a hard reset if a soft reset doesn't solve your problem, or if you want to clear all of your information from your handheld. [!] IMPORTANT A hard reset deletes all records and entries stored on your handheld, including the username that identifies the handheld. Before you do a hard reset, be sure to synchronize.

Hello, have a Palm 755p Treo screen just keeps flashing

There are multiple reasons for the phone to go into an endless loop.

Fix #1 - Soft Reset - Take out the battery. On the back of your phone, pop the cover off, remove battery, place battery back in and it will show each screen once and power on normally.

Fix #2 - Hard Reset - To do a hard reset, hold the power button while you replace the battery and then release it when the Palm logo appears.

Fix #3 - Hammer
