SOURCE: How do you remove a back off a old seiko watch

If you see the indentations on the case back to accomodate a tool, then you need that tool and unscrew counter clockwise. If you don't see those indentations then the case back then you should be able to pry by using the proper tool. You might be able to use a small bladed tool, like a knife, but be very careful that you dont slip and cut yourself. Go between the case and one of the band posts to get leverage.

SOURCE: How do I remove the stem from the automatic

mcdevito75 here, You can remove the stem from your Seiko watch fairly easiky, however if your not familiar with the inside of a watch, I wouldn"t attempt it as you can easily destroy the watch. If you are a bit familiar with the workings of a watch, at least know that this is the balnce wheel, this is the hairspring, gear train etc. when you look at the workings of your watch then you should have no problem. If you are not familiar with the watches works I wouldn"t attempt it. But here goes, Lay the watch crystal down on some paper towels, clth. etc. something to cushion the watch, after you remove the back cover, and Movement cover, note the stem and it"
s position in the watch, just about next to the stem as it goes into the watch movement you"ll see a very small screw, veery small, with Jewelers screwdriver turn that screw 1 full turn, Gently try to remove the stem, do not use any force, if the stem does not come out, give 1 more turn on that screw, try to remove stem again, if not, give half turns on that screw 1 at a time, after each half turn try to remove stem. When the stem does come out do not touch that screw anymore. DO NOT REMOVE THAT SCREW FROM THE MOVEMENT, AS THE MECHANISM HOLDING THE STEM IN THE WATCH IS UNDER THE FACE (DIAL) 1 full turn on that screw the half turns, checking after each turn to remove the stem. You should have a magnifier glass and jewelers screwdrivers to do this job, all available over ebay. If your not familiar with watches, look for a small watch repair shop in your area for repairs.

How to get bezel for seiko SQ 50

All parts can be purchased by phone from the Seiko New York call line. They are extremely helpful and get your part as soon as it is available. This is the TRUE Seiko parts line - NOT an off brand. I have used this call line numerous times over the last couple of decades for my husbands Seiko watches. the phone number is:
(201) 529-5730 If they cannot get it no one can!

Seiko spindle removal

I am guessing you wish to remove the stem. There is a small lever on the inside of the watch near the stem. Pull the crown out to the first position. Look for the lever, it will have a very small dimple. Press on this with a needle or something similiar and pull on the crown at the same time. Voila!

How to set day/date on an 1968 DX automatic Seiko watch

Seiko watches from this period should have a setting stem that pull out half-way and fully. Pulling the stem out fully permits you to set the time. Pulling the stem out half-way should let you set the date by moving the crown forward/clockwise and set the day of the week by moving the crown backward/counterclockwise.

However, for this to work correctly, the watch must have the correct set stem. I have worked with a number of watches, including Seikos, where a generic stem was substituted after someone accidentally pulled out the crown and stem (Seiko replacement parts can be tough to find in the U.S., especially for discontinued models). If an incorrect stem has been installed, the day/date setting procedure I've just described may no longer work correctly. At that point, setting the date involves advancing the hands to get to the right date; day of the week may not be able to be set at all.

Good luck!
