Question about Toshiba gigabeat MES60VK Digital Media Player
Got a Toshiba Gigabeat S series that has message connect to PC to restore. Have tried gigabeat repair utility found on the net but the device although detected by the PC still shows as disconnected on the repair utility so cannot restore the firmware. Any ideas
I just solved the same problem yesterday. When you download the firmware, save it to yur desktop and burn a CD because the gigabeat won't get it unless there is an actual CD in the rom.
Now, connect the gigabeat to the computer and let the firmware install. The unit will automatically restart twice. Here's the tricky part. You have to hold down the start button on the device until you see the start screen. (It took awhile for me to figure that out!)
After I saw the start screen, I saw that all my files were there! YAY

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
