Before connecting the USB lead you must Un-mount the SD card in the phone. To do this you need to go to settings\sd card &phone storage\ unmount or eject sd card. Once this is done connect the USB lead and your computer should find new mass storage device and label it as an exrternal drive. Simply drag and drop your music into the music folder on the new drive.

Note: When youve finished you need to go back to the phone and mount the drive back on the phone following the same steps I described at the begging.

Hope this helps. Karl

Need software to tranfer phone files to the computer

Check the website of the phone manufacture that you have, most offer software to connect your computer to phone for free. You will need a cable thought to connect the two, you should be able to pick one up at any phone store.

If that does not work try the instructions below.

Basic Instructions:
Contacts, Memo's, Pictures, Calander
  1. Find/Purchase data link cable, something that has a prong for yourcell phone on one end and a USB connector on the other. Try searchingthe make and model of your cell phone on Google or various onlinestores.
  2. Install the drivers necessary for your cell phone; these should have come with the data link cable on a CD.
  3. Download and install the BitPim software from http://www.bitpim.org/.
  4. Plug your phone in, and run BitPim. It should automatically detect your phone.
  5. The two buttons in the upper left tool bar are Get Phone Data andSend Phone Data; use these to quickly retrieve and send basicinformation stored on your phone's memory.
Movies, Music, Memory Cards
  1. Select View, then View Filesystems to open up more advanced possibilities
  2. Look for folders that seem to contain useful information; on theSamsung a930, music and videos that are stored on the memory card areat /mmc1/MY_(FLIX/MP3S/MUSIC/PIC)
  3. If you have several files (say, movies or pictures) you wish toremove at once, right click on the folder and select "BackupDirectory". This will copy everything in that folder onto your computer.
  4. Search online for advice about what can be done with your phone. Some phones are very limited on what file types they can use, othershave size restrictions you need to know about. Every model of phone isdifferent.

I cant put music on to the lg viewty KU990I ! Any help ??

I find the easiest way is copying the music over manually rather than a fiddly program.

First, go to settings > phone settings > connectivity > USB connection mode, and make sure "mass storage" is selected.

Now plug your phone into the computer using a USB chord. The autoplay menu should pop up, otherwise go to my computer and open the "removable disk". Then go to the music folder within that (if there is none just create a new folder). Now just drag and drop the music you want on your phone and vwala.

Hope that helps!

Can't get songs on motorola a1200

You should have a USB cable that comes with the phone n the driver for your files transfer from PC to Phone [I hope you got that CD too]. Now first of all install that driver from the CD...when it asks connect your phone to the computer with the USB cable. Open up the File Manager,My Music n start transfering...Remember for a music player to play songs continuosly u have put the songs in the my music folder or you'll have to go to that folder[that you have created yourself] and play songs one by one...it is very easy once u start doing it. Another method is...you do that via Bluetooth option...take ringtones or songs from somebody else's phone. Let me know if there's any prob.

Downloading music to my phone

There are two procedures for transerring Music form PC to Cell Phone.

First, pairing your Computer and Cell Phone with Bluetooth

Second, connected your Cell Phone directly to Computer via Data Cable and selecting Mass Storage.

With both the above procedures you can transfer music to your Cell Phone.
