Re: Samsung PS42P3S

Not quite enough information here to know what cables your friend needs, but let me stab at this anyway. The HDMI Digital Video/Audio cable is a part number D2412-DDMI6. It's a six foot cable. The IF cable on the other hand is Samsung p/n# AA39-30007B. Does he have the user manual? It should list the cables he is trying to find in the accessories section along with any Samsung part number. Then just go to Samsung Direct at and order it... If he doesn't have a user manual he can order that too. Hope this helps. Bill

No sound on lcd tv

First check your TV setup menu to see if your TV audio preferences are set to PC audio. That is a setting that sends audio out through your PC cables instead of the TV speakers. It may also have been set to mute through a remote.

I have a samsung plasma 50" tv, how do I hook it up to this sound bar? I tried to hook it up using the rca jacks and it didn't work.

Near the Audio / Video inputs on your tv, you should see a "headphone" jack or it may be labeled "Audio Out"
some sound bars plug into these jacks using standard heaphone jack.
Other sound bars may need to be connected to the device your using on your tv. (DVD player, cable box, etc.)
Tv speakers can then be disabled in the "Audio" menu of your tv.

My samsung HLT5075s has a popping sound coming from it. The sound comes faster and faster and then the tv makes a Bleep sound and shuts off. Do I need a new power supply or a ballast? The picture is...

I had this problem too, popping coming from the internal speakers it seemed. I typically use my surround sound so the internal audio isn't necessary for me. You can take off the back and down next too all the inputs on the right hand side (if facing tv front) you'll see a little gap between the connector housing and the base of TV, there is a little cable connected to circuit board that is red, black, and yellow i think, pull it from circuit board. this disables audio from the main board traveling to front of TV. Problem fixed. Ps ..this also cuts the red led in the front..

Samsung UN55B8000 Audio out - 3.5mm connection not working

Try a firmware update from Samsung. If that does not work, replaced the Main bd.

46" Samsung LCD, no sound output whatsoever

First try hooking up a different source such as a DVD player or Cable box and see if you have audio. If you do then check the audio output from the computer. If you do not have audio then make sure the tv audio is up half way and turn off the set. When you do this you should hear the down chime provided you have the chime turned "on". If you do not hear the down or up chime then the sudio circuits on the Main bd are bad and the Main bd will have to be replaced. A quick way to check to see if the audio circuits are working is to listen for the up or down chime when turning on of off the set coming from the tv speakers speakers.

Samsung LCD tv no sound from one channel only, no cable box, direct connection to cable, worked ok and then somebody may have fooled around with closed closed captioning on now, but no...

First try viewing regular programming and see if you have audio on both channels. If you do not then go to the user menu and make sure that the chim function is turned "on". Then turn off the tv and listen for the down chime coming from both speakers. If you only hear the chime from one speaker then the Aidio circuits are bad on the Main bd and needs to be replaced.

In most cases it's the Cable issue. Either bad Cable Box or the Wires are not grounded properly. Disconnect the Audio Cables or the COAX cable from the Cable Box and see if the Humming noise goes away.
