Question about Sony STR-V444ES Receiver
Recently I did experience "Protector" cut off several times. Same thing with the loudspeakers cables off. I did open the machine and clean the interior and the interior connections and miracle...., it was working perfectly. Tonight same problem. I did notice that happens when an humidifyer is working in the same room. Can that be the cause ?
I hate to tell you this that has been a problem wit sony amps end recievers end evan there tv,s for years allready doing that, Try giving it a good hard rapp on the side or the top of it, Sometimes that will work to reset it, If that does not work , It will have to be taken in for repair, What happens to them ,The output transsisters swell up on them, From over heating, , It is cause buy cranlking up the vollume over it,s limit,People don,t relized that with evan a good low wattage amp or reciever ,That they are putting out there maximun power at3/4 vollume allredy. End buy cranking it up over that it cuases it to over heat, The humidifryer would not becauseing that problem, Allso sony do not like haveing miss match speakers being hook up to them, Or any little change in power in your house , Makes them act up allso, End eventully wil cause a problem with it, I no you are not going to want to hear this, But what it cost to have it repaired , You can buy a decent new one , Or a very high end used reciever for, Hope this helps you out,

The only way to reset protect is to eliminate the problem which activated it. Problem may be insufficient line voltage or unit's output circuit. Have unit checked out by prof, tech
