Make sure that the head unit is secured tight, it might be the bass that is rattling the head unit and therefore the cd is jumping.

I have a stock stereo and two subs with an amp in the trunk. Also two alpine speakers in the rear. Whenever I turn my balance to the left my subs don't play. What's wrong?

Hello.... I am sorry to hear you are having problems. The reason for this is that since you have a stock stereo, the shop (or person) whom installed the amp and subs used a line out converter. What this part does is allows the connection of RCA cables to the factory head unit. Almost all bass signals are always in stereo, so since you were only hooking an amplifier for just subs, you can actually just connect to just one of the rear speakers instead of connecting to the right and left. Just makes the install a little quicker. There is nothing wrong with this as I usually do the same thing in our shop. However, if you are going to be using the balance control, then you will need to go back to the shop and have them hook the converter up in stereo (to both rear speakers). Hope this helps!

I have an Alpine CDE-100 and when I hooked up my subs and amp I would only get subs with radio and regular speakers for my ipod via usb and the cd player? I had a friend that use to install sound systems...

While I don't know the specifics of this head unit, I would guess that it has settings that can be adjusted for each source. You might check to see if there's a menu that allows you to turn the subs on/off for the various program sources.

Hello i just recently bought alpine speakers for my eclipse 2003

mostly because the subs in the back are probley using more amps than the ones in the front in the front should be used mostly for vocals and your bass in the trun so maybe trying to unhook the ones in the front from the sub and just leave then hooked up to the cd player where you can hear the vocals really good and leave your subs in the back hooked up to the amp

u might have to turned your amp so u can play both subs your amp might be to small to run both subs at the same time an u gotta play around with the settings on your cd player so when u blasted your subs it has that nice bass to it not that poping sound.

I cant fugure out where to hook my amp into this cd player.. Its a alpine bmw buisness radio! thanks

IN ORDER TO HOOK IT UP U HAVE TO HAVE A RCA CONVERTER, YOU CAN EITHER HOOK IT UP THROUGH YOUR MIDS OR SPLICE INTO YOU STOCK WIRE HARNESS FOR YOUR STEREO, IN THE SPEAKER WIRES.

I'm assuming that you have an amp that you are installing these to. Its always tricky installing subs of different impedances. Do you have the model number of the amp that you are hooking them up to.
Most likely if you have a 2 channel amp, you would connect one sub to each channel as most amps can handle a 2ohm load in stereo, but don't bridge the amp with these two subwoofers without specific instruction from someone with experience as you will most likely overlad the amp. If you can be more specific with your set-up I'd be able to assist you more.

Can't get my amplifier to work.

Any idea how this is all wired up?
I think what they have may used is an 'RF modulator kit' to get the signal from your stereo to the amp. These are commonly used when factory stereo's don't have any outputs on the back of them for adding external amps. Even so, when you unplug the RCA cables there should be no signal coming to the amp & no sound coming out of the speakers/subs that are subsequently connected to the amp either.

If you are unplugging the subs from the aux output at the cd player, your Audio lines feeding the amps is shorted somewhere between the cd player and Amps.
