Netgear WGR614 power goes off automatically. I had to remove the power plug wire, re-insert it and even then sometimes power does not turn on, and at times it switches on. Once power is on, i'm able to use the internet, else I need to try it many times until power light is on. It sucks.
the wall plug type power supply (made in China) may be bad. Unless you are absolutely sure the power supply is working properly, don't try to do a firmware upgrade then nothing sucks more than an incomplete upgrade, rendering the router useless.
Try to find a replacement power supply with perhaps higher current rating.

i have a wrt54gs v7.2 that i was told had been smashed. i opened it up and found 1 of the capacitors had been crushed so i replaced it with 1 of the same value. i plugged it in and got nothing so i looked the board over real hard to find that "u6" had a chunk blown out of it. i would like to replace this and get this router in working order once again

Dear sir, I have 2 wired and 3 wireless computers conected. All of them can sometimes not connect with the router (media disconnected). I have to reset the router and then the problem has gone. I tried all ways to avoid this, but nothing gives the solution. I even tried to give one pc an ip address out of the dhcp range. But then strangely other pc's give a conflict. How can I solve this without resetting? Adri Dierdorp
