Question about Kenmore Elite 22.4 cu. ft. Bottom Freezer Refrigerator with Adjusta Cube Ice Maker
It blows air but it is not cold is their a way to charge the coolant? My frig is blowing air but its not cold. What would cause this?
It could be several reasons. since neither freezer or fridge is cooling i'd think the compressor is not coming on there could be several reasons for this.. id say first it could be the defrost timer is so equipted or a bad start/ run capacitor. these should be checked first. if you are and kind of handy it should not be a big deal.. you must kill the power in the unit befor you work o it though. if theres a defrost timer , locat it and try to turn it a little until it clicks or just turns a bit plug it back it and see if the compressor comes on if so you you need a defrost times. fairly common problem, probably 30- 40 dollars and local appliance parts store. the start capacitor will have to be checked to se it it is working with in the proper rating. if not it will not start the compressor. their cheap usually under 10 dollars at parts store. bet i can tel you from what i see here.. good luck let us know what you find please.

SOURCE: refrigerator not cooling
This could be that it is out of balance. Set the temperature settings to midway. This control can easily get the fridge temp out out of balance if over adjusted. If you already have the tmp control at midway then you need to make sure there are no obstructions to the duct that carries the cold air from the freezer to the fresh food section to cool it. Check for ice buildup or any kind of blockage. Let me know what you find.

Look for the return vent near the bottom probably behind the crisper. You'll have to remove it to see the vent. There may be an adjustable flap in to to adjust the meat keeper area. Make sure it's open.

It is either a problem with your defrost cycle, or timer, or it is the damper, for some reason froze in position. Hope this helps

You have your own answer there - You have overfrosting and icing up behind the freezer, this will affect proper cooling - also if you have seperate freezer and refrigerator controls, it's possible the damper is not opening properly to let the cool air in. But in your case it sounds like a defrost problem. You will need to have a service person inspect your control board and defrost timer components - sometimes it's as simple as a board replacement due to a burnt resistor these things are the most common causes.
