The speakers on our Mitsubishi CS36509 have started crackling. Was just a little seems to be getting worse. Just started a few days ago. Does that mean the TV is toast? or is it possible to replace or repair the speakers? Thanks

It is possible to replace the speakers, order them from a tv repair service, pull the grills off, install.

hope that helps!

I have a Mitsubishi VS-60607 Tv and it started out

Without going in with troubleshooting equipment it is hard to determine if the problems are related or not but it is unlikely since you seem to have a video problem and a convergence problem , which are two separate circuit(signal processing and deflection). Hope this help.
Please do not rate this answer(unless it helps)as it is only a suggestion.

I have a Mitsubishi WS-55807 and the colors started to separate - you can reset it by turning if off and on again and it goes away but in time returns, starts getting blury then the colors split up - just...

In your On Screen Display menu (OSD), you should have a place that says "convergence". As a sub heading to this it will say "Auto-Convergence". This is where you want to be! Hit OK under AUTO, and watch the magic happen! If your set happens NOT to have AUTO, you'll have to do it manually. You're going to make the lines all match up doing one color at a time until all three colors are done! It's not hard at all. It may take a little patience at first, but just think of all the money your saving by not having a TV tech come out to your house and you'll be fine!

Mitsubishi tries to come on

Good day, widgemix2003;

I'm sorry, but when you said all voltages where correct, I assumed you was a tech or person with some TV knowledge.

Okay, let's start over:

1. To reset the TV unplug tha ac cord from the wall for 3-4 minutes.... plug back into wall.
2. On the front the TV behind the speaker grill there is a flat panel... remove.... you will a small black screen/focus block. On that item you will see the words screen , turn one of those slowy to the right. What do see on the TV's screen?
3. Since you have access to front look closely for fluid on the PCB. Look on the right and center of the board closely.

Good luck, big IRISH. Or call me on cell @ 281-380-4422.

For some reason it started to take a longer time to warm up...

This model has several caps. on the power supply voltages such as the 5v, 9v and 12 v lines that begin to dry out and open and such problems begin to manifest themselves. Most likely this problem will continue to get worse and worse. As far as burned in images there is nothing that can be done short of replaceing all three picture tube and that is very expensive and this unit is to old to consider a 1000.00 repair.

  • there is nothing wrong with your tv
  • the problem which you are seeing is due to magnatic effect.called degaussing.
  • it generally comes when you change the place of tv or some body turns the direction of tv wnen it is on
  • also check that any magnetic material like speaker or headphone in not lying near tv.
  • if it is there remove it & put off tv for 30 minutes &then put on it will be fine in day or two.
  • remember do not turn tv while it is on.
  • still problem persists call tech to degauss tv
  • it is hardly 5 minutes job but i am sure that it will be ok.

Usually what I find in those sets with that symptom is that the solder joints have cracked on the convergence output IC. When this happens you may see the colors no longer lining up on the screen, and slapping the side might temporarily straighten it out again. After a while the convergence IC will short out inside, which overloads the convergence power supply, possibly shorting a diode and/or burning the resistors. The computer senses that the power supply is not working right and shuts the set back off. When I make a housecall for a set like that I charge $150, but some shops charge up to $400, so ask around.
