Probably needs to have the burners blown out. The yellow is a sure sign of rust and stuff inside the burners disrupting the formula of air to gas ratio. Just needs a good blowing out.more

Burnham boiler pilot light goes out when thermostat shuts it down

That unit uses a thermocouple 30mv or a pilot generator of 750 mv if the thermostat is a remote type and not integral to the gas valve.
A thermocouple or pilot generator makes power due to a temperature differential across the tip of the generator, if too much is impinged by the flame the generator gets hot across the entire tip, dropping power output.
You likely need a new thermocouple they are about $15 and easily replaced.

Pilot light goes out when you relase the gas controll valvue

your gas heater needs cleaning
you can do it yourself
shut gas off to heater
disconect line going to pilot
and the other end into valve
get a straw and blow into line and where it conects
also use vacuume on the end where pilot flame comes out
clean the end of thermcouple( where flame hits)
put it back together BE SURE CONECTIONS ARE TIGHT
dont want gas leaks

My gas wall heater is giving off a nasty oder and is setting off my CO2/Smoke detector. what may cause this?

you may have a plugged heat exchanger. please have this checked before using anymore. you may have excess heat coming from the burner compartment,if open flame, and yellow flame in color that would be floating not stable and blue in color

I'm having the same exact problem... At first we thought was the vent... but the way the flames goes out... it seems that there is "not enough oxygen" more than "blown out by the wind"... right after both main & pilot goes out, I can't even light any external flame inside the chamber... and it doesn't feel like the outside cold air coming in... it just feel like there is some sort of gas in the chamber that's so strong, it prevents flame... and the only thing I can think of is that it doesn't have enough oxygen, but too much natural gas, and flame can't sustain.

Williams debonair wall heater + pilot light problems

THE flame from the pilot should shoot past the thermo-couple and heat this up and make a small amount of mili- amps to prove the pilot light is lit. ..So if the flame doesn,t go past the thermo-couple it won, make mili-amps or its tme to change out the thermo-couple, They only cost lest than $8:00 and you can change it!

Glo Warm propane heater started to go out. I blew out the pilot with air compressor. It is staying on, but the middle burner in back of the pilot light is flaming a little above the brick. The other...

sounds like when you blew heater out with air compressor you moved brick so flame isn't hitting bottom of brick like they should. You should try and put brick back on top of flame so that you don't get to much heat on the refractory of the heater. The refractory will take the heat for awhile then refractory will start to break down. Then you will either have to install new refractory or replace heater

Pilot adjustment on Williams wall heater

The insert sounds like the cap covering the adjustment screw. Pin hole is for cap removal. Wondering why flame is so high?! Shouldn't have orange flame. If heater doesn't light with lower flame... thermocouple (thing that the flame heats up) may be bad.

Williams wall furnace, top vent.

I've replaced a Williams wall gas heater non-electric. The thermostat is connected right and mounted on the wall. But, there's a thick black copper wire on the side of the furnace tagged thermostat. I don't know what to do with it? Where do you connect this wire? When it touches the top screw of the three screws running vertically(where the other wires are connected). The burner lights up and stays on, even if you play with the wall thermostat. Touching the other two screws doesn't do anything. Now, the manual talks about connecting it to the venting wires? Extra wires coming from the top or maybe somewhere else in the wall? I've left it connected to the first screw, ran the heater. But, it never turns off? Any suggestions? Thanks
