Question about Kenmore 3.8 cu. ft. HE3 Front Load Washer
I purchased an HE3t from Sears in October 2008. After using the machine for a bit, I noticed that the blue "Sanitized" light did not illuminate after completion of a cycle that included the "Steam Treat" option with "Steam Sanitize" selected as the wash temperature. I contacted Sears and 8 service calls, 3 replaced boards (CCU twice and the Keyboard Interface once), multiple calls to the factory, Sears, etc. later, I finally have a washer that performs as detailed in the manual.
Ultimately, it turned out that the problem was a software bug and replacing the CCU board the second time corrected the problem. Meanwhile, I lived through a trail of service personnel, one even suggesting that the manual was incorrect and the light was not intended to illuminate.
Has anyone else had this problem? It's hard for me to believe that my 2008 version of this washer was the only one with this software bug.
It appears your controller board has failed in this instance. There was a bad part used in the controller - and has been replaced. If your controller was replaced with one from NOS... it will have the same problem.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
