Question about Activision Guitar Hero

Cant get the game to start

After i start the game it tells me " the downloadable content has changed. as a result, the game has restarted."
and it gives me a continue option, thats the only option, I try it and it keeps repeating.

    I'm losing my mind with the same problem! tried resetting the system defaults and what not still won't work so now i'll try the 2nd step which means deleting all progress :(

First: Go to System settings. Scroll down to restore to factory default settings. Click on Yes and re-set them. Power down your PS3. Unplug the power cord from it for 2 minutes. While it is unplugged, unplug your wireless router for 30 seconds. Plug it back in. Now plug your PS3 back up and turn the power on. If this doesn't fix the isue then do the following: On your XMB dashboard, there will be two files. One is for game updates, the other is for game progress. Delete all of these for Guitar Hero. Turn the PS3 off. Turn it back on and re-install the update for the game. Any downloadable content that you paid for thru the Playstation can be re-downloaded for free! Yes, you will have to start your progress from square zero, but you will be able to play your game! If not then you ave other issues. If it is a Guitar Hero issue go to http://www.activision.com/guitarhero/support and start a RMA warranty request. If it is a PS3 issue, go to http://www.us.playstation.com and click support. Then click on service and see if your unit is still under warranty. (One year from purchase date-receipt required) Warranty claims for the PS3 generally take about 14 days! Did the tech explain how to do a database rebuild and/or restore filesystem, in order to make sure any corrupted or fragmented part of the OLP file was cleaned up before re-installation?


Also, the simplest possibility, though not often the case, is a trophy sync error causing OLP conflicts. Before anything else, highlight "Trophies" and press the triangle for options and "Syncronize trophies". Then try the game again and see if it then works, if not, then let's move on to the more techy stuff.

Try this (it will not lose any valid and working game data for other games but you will lose any messages on all accounts on the PS3 system and any saved game data on the game that is causing problems):
Insert the game disk and highlight it in the games menu, then press the triangle button for options.
Select "Delete".
Locate any downloaded content relating to "Last of Us", including the OLP.
Also delete and save game data for "Last of US", in case they may be corrupt or conflicting with the updated OLP.
When finished deleting the game files and related content,
plug a controler with USB cable, into the PS3 and power off.
Press and hold the power button, do not release until the game cycles completely on and then turns itself back off. It should beep once just before it shuts itself off.
Release power button.
Press and hold the power button again, and this time after it beeps once, it will beep again with two rapid beeps. Remove finger from power button after the double-beep. It should display white text on the sceen either telling you to turn on the controler, or a message about the video setting (HDMI detection), depending on your TV/monitor type and the settings that you use.

(( Also take note that the above procedure is used if the PS3 ever gets stuck in the wrong video mode, such as changing from HDMI to a composite TV or vice-vera and that this is the menu you would also need to "restore PS3 System" if the hard drive is ever replaced or upgraded ))

On this menu, select, "Rebuild Database".
Once it completes, it should restart itself. Turn the controler back on and reinstall the game from the disk first, before going to Playstation Store to redownload and install the OLP and any previously purchased downloaded content.

(( Helpfull hint - Any previous downloaded purchases on the account should most easily be found by selecting the "Download" icon in the Playstation Store, instead of trying to look up the games individually through the store. ))

Lastly, before running the game, go to "Trophies", highlight it, but do not open it with the X button. Instead, press the triangle button for options and select "synchronize trophy information".

The game and online pass should then work.

If after reinstalling, the issue remains, then the next, more drastic solution would be to repeat all steps above, but also run "Restore File System", after "rebuild databse" restarts the system. This may risk losing some other game data, if any are found to have corruption. Even then, they can simply be reinstalled, redownloaded, etc, and game progress other than saved games should be saved and resynchronized from the PSN servers automaticly.
If after all of those steps which tend to work on more than 99% of games still does not work, then it is an issue in the game code itself or the developer's servers and would require contacting the developer directly.

Can I purchase a ps3 game in europe and will play on a ps3 system from the USA


Yes, PS3 games in blu-ray format will work.
However, pay attention to this small detail: If you plan on buying or downloading DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT (DLC), you'll need an European account on your ps3 (create one and fill it with information from Europe) in order to be able to use them.
If you just want to play the game and not worry too much about the downloadable content and all those kind of extra stuff you can get for the game, go ahead!
PS: If you want to test the fact that it truly works with your current setup, create that european account on your ps3 and download some european demos. You'll have your compatiblity answer resolved instantly.

Cannot start the correct hard disk was not found


You need to reset the settings on the PS3 Service Setup screen.

I cant remember how to access that section tho... I read it in the free PS3 Repair Guide but I just cant recall.

Once in there you change 1 setting to reset defaults and this will attempt to rewrite settings to the drive, which will allow the PS3 to boot (or start) it.

Then restart the console and it is Fixed (or not)!

If that doesn't fix it, you will need to replace your hard drive. That process is really easy... all you really need to know is where the screws go.

I would recommend downloading the free ps3 repair guide and reading through it. It's over 300 pages though, so not easy to remember where sections are. You can find it here.

I cant find out


if you restored your system and it wiped out your downloaded content just set up your system so that you can access you psn account. once that is done you just need to go to your download list and re-download the items you want. starting from the main screen of your ps3 the xmb go to....
playstation network>account management>transaction management>download list.... in there you'll see all and every thing you ever downloaded on your psn account.

Hi--i downloaded sequence 13 for assassin's creed 2 on my ps3 and it took an hour to do so--then it tried to install and after 2 min it said ''install error''--and that was it--it may have given a code...

What MS generally tell people to do with software errors is to navigate to where the content downloaded, delete it, then download again.

Personally, I would try this first (a pain I know) and if it gives the error code again jot it down and I may be able to give you a may accurate answer.

Did you install the content after downloading it? To tell, go to your games and look for a bubble around the title.

How to reinstall my downloadable content?


All you should have to do is go back into the Playstation Store and find everything that you've downloaded. Since you have already paid for it, you should be able to download it and install it without having to pay again.

Content probleme...


Good question I am sure many of you may be getting this error, or errors with home in general. What the problem is, is sony does not have the servers set up they need. For you Lab many people are downloading it at the same time you are, my advice try when you are going to bed, i.e. less people are on and doing same thing. Hope this helps
