How do I change resolution from 480i to 720 on RCA Scenium HDLP50W151

I was watching the TV and I think I hit a button on the DirecTV remote. Next thing, I lost the picture but still have sound. Resolution seems to have been reset to 480i somehow and can't seem to reset it. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

Change the resolution through your Cable / Satellite box - Go into the menu. Most of the Akai tv sets do not have an option to change the resolution.

SOURCE: HAVE RCA SCENIUM 50

The noise you are hearing is due to the fact the color wheel is failing. It may go on several more months like that or not. The bearings in it are where the noise is coming from. The part number for the color wheel is 212184 and is no longer available. You can however purchase from people on ebay or do a google search for this part. Its not that tough to replace but advisable to have a technician do it once you purchase one. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks...

How do I change my resolution on my 32 inch flat screen from 480 to 720

Assuming your TV will support 720p signals, check how you have the TV connected to the Playstation 3. Change your video cable to component video or HDMI, depending on the TV. (The Composite input is limited to 480i (SD) pictures. The same is true for a SCART connection.) Put the TV to the new input by pressing the Input Source button on the TV Remote or through the menu depending on your TV.

You may have to do the first of these steps before changing your cables and the TV input source (I'm not sure). On the Playstation, select Settings and then Display Settings.Choose your video output (component or HDMI). Next select all resolution that the TV can use. (Most 32" TVs only do 720p. There are some that can do 1080i or 1080p.) Confirm the video connection works. Then Save your settings.

For screen captures of the steps, see: http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/3_15/settings/videooutput.html . You should always turn off the TV and the Playstation before swapping the cables. (So you may need to stop and save after setting the output to component video. Then return to the Display Settings menu.)

I hope this helps.

How do i change from 480i to 1080i on a sharp 52"

You don't. The TV picture will be fuzzy when watching a program in 480. If you have a lot of video in 480 or 720 you can get an up scaler. They are expensive, but that is the only way you'll ever get a Hi def picture from a low resolution signal
