My WGT624 v3 has no power, seems dead

Yup, I have seen those die that way sometimes. Put a voltmeter on the power supply to check (or take it to Radio-Shack) but it is probbaly the router itself

Netgear WGT624 router won't connect to the internet

I am in the UK and have found through experience the Netgear's seem to work perfect on a BT line (equivalent of AT & T)
but not on the cable.

I would suggest purchasing a Linksys by Cisco WRT54GL Wireless-G Broadband Router as these seem to install in minutes,
saves me hours of wasted time when setting up wireless networks.

Need to re-network my netgear wgt624 router

Power off your PC for a few moments then turn it back on to see if it will get a new IP address and connect again to the router.

Make sure that your computer is getting a valid IP address from the router. If your wireless network is secured, you might as well consider checking the wireless settings.

Netgear 108 Mbps Router WGT624 v3

As you say that, you are able to go online with the modem, connect your modem- router and laptop witha cable and check if you are able to go online with the router wired first, if yes, then the w/ls settings has to be checked..open your w/ls network connection, remove your preferred wireless network and then try to reconnect again and check.. if you are not able to gon online wired with the router, disconnect power cables from modem- router , wait for 10 sec, and reconnect it , wait till all the lights come up and then reconnect, check if you are able to go online if not your router has to be reconfigured,,

plz check and revert back in case of any issues

My laptop and the router won't stay connected.

This is common with many manf. of routers. I have had the same issue. Are you running WEP? If so that's probably the culprit. For some reason, IEEE allowed more than one hash routine to get out there in the field, so sometimes if you have varying brands end-to-end, they can generate the hash-to-value a slight bit differently. So either a)Disable WEP b)Get netgear PCMCIA on laptop c)Move closer or change string in your WEP key to ONLY include 0-9 a-z d)Get a repeater. (Either netgear or brand of laptop WLAN NIC) Hope this helps. (I ended up disabling WEP as MAC filter and SSID turned off are sufficient enough for home use security.)
