Question about 1996 Pickup Short Bed Xe Egr Valve Vacuum Switch
When put on machine can out with codes po110 and po180 what do i do now
P0110 is for air intake temperature sensor, The intake air temperature (IAT) sensor is built into mass air flow sensor or in some vehicles mounted to the air filter duct housing. The sensor detects intake air temperature and transmits a signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM). The temperature sensing unit uses a thermistor which is sensitive to the change in temperature. Electrical resistance of the thermistor decreases in response to the temperature rise. The IAT sensor signal is used as an input for various systems in the vehicle.Possible causes:
- Faulty Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor
- Dirty air filter
- Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor harness is open or shorted
- Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor circuit poor electrical connection
P0180 means: The fuel tank temperature sensor is used to detect the fuel temperature inside the fuel tank. The sensor modifies a voltage signal from the ECM. The modified signal returns to the ECM as the fuel temperature input. The sensor uses a thermistor which is sensitive to the change in temperature. The electrical resistance of the thermistor decreases as temperature increases. Possible causes:
- Faulty Engine Fuel Temperature Sensor
- Engine Fuel Temperature Sensor harness is open or shorted
- Engine Fuel Temperature Sensor circuit poor electrical connection
Resolving P0180 could be a significant procedure if there is no fuel pump access panel. IF there is no panel or means to remove the fuel pump assembly from the tank, you will need to drop the fuel tank to get the sensor out in order to replace it.
