You might try COPY/PASTE:
A virtual, temporary storage area. Information (in the form of text, files, graphics, sound or video) can be copied to the Clipboard from one program or location and pasted elsewhere. The Clipboard can only hold one block of information at a time. Whenever something is copied to the Clipboard, it replaces whatever was there before. There are many platforms which support the Clipboard function.
COPY TO CLIPBOARD
Point mouse cursor to beginning point in text to be copied. Press and hold the "ctrl" key on the keyboard and click mouse. Entire section of text will be highlighted in blue. [NOTE: If only a portion of what you wish to copy is highlighted, then move mouse cursor to end of text, press and hold the "shift" key and click mouse]. Right click mouse and select "copy" from the menu window that opens.
PASTING FROM CLIPBOARD
Open the window you wish to place the copy (e-mail, FB profile page--status box, etc), click where you wish to place copy, then right click and select "paste" from the menu window that opens. NOTE: Edit as you would normally typed text.
[shortcut paste: press and hold ctrl key and press letter "V"].
Some webpages don't allow their content to be copied and not all facebook users allow others to post on their wall. What are you trying to copy and where are you trying to paste it? The drop down menu offering the option to COPY and PASTE appear when you click the RIGHT side button of your mouse.
Find the text or link address that you want to paste into Facebook. Highlight that information by clicking and dragging over it with the cursor on your mouse.

Please be absolutely certain that this email is from Facebook and that the link(s) within the email are pointed to facebook.com - otherwise this may not be a legitimate email message from Facebook (in which case you should simply delete the message).
If all is well and it looks legitimate:
If you can, copy and paste the link that they have provided into your browser. To do this, use your mouse to highlight the entire link (should read something like http://www.facebook.com/some/link.php?etc). Right-click on the highlighted link and select 'Copy' from the list. Now in the address-portion of your browser right-click and select 'Paste' from the list. Once the link has been pasted to the browser, hit 'Enter' on your keyboard.
Alternatively, if there is no link showing in the email that you've received (that is it is something that says click here or similar), you will need to view the email as plain text (not as HTML). Enabling this depends on the email client that you are using.
