Question about Plumbing

1 Answer

My Fontaine Monaco kitchen faucet just sprays water, never a seadystream or way to switch it. Have tried Lowes different areators but to no avail. What do I need?

I just moved in and the faucet just sprays so it is difficult to fill a bottle or anything. I have taken off the end and brought to Lowes . I have been sold different parts but nothing works. I can not find this model on Fontaines web site. The house was new 8 years ago but the man redid thekitchen since. I would imagine he didn't do it right away as it was new so I can't figure the faucet is more than 5 years old. Nice faucet but annoying.

The faucet has the wrong aerator or an aerator that has been installed incorrectly or is missing parts or is cross-threaded.

SOURCE: kitchen faucet , reduced water flow / pressure

Hi ssam1

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

You want to know if you can fix a sudden low volume /pressure delivery problem on an American Standard model AS4205100 H7, one hole / single lever with pullout spray And is it fixable by owner?

Yes and maybe!

All plumbing systems are plauged with debrie buildup. Every time you turn on a faucet the water starts moving and will bring bits of debrie up from the water main or well. Most are small and will pass through to be caught by the screen in the aireator. Sometimes a relatively large piece comes along and dosen't make it through to the screen. It is stuck in the body of the valve.
Fixing takes a little mechanical ability.
First, turn off the water to the faucet in question. Then carefully disasemble paying close attention to the order of disasembly so you can reverse the order when putting back together. As each part is removed inspect it for that troublesome bit. I find that a little bit of wire or a paper clip is helpfull. Carefully reasemble. If the volume is still low then you missed finding that bit. Try again or call in a local pro.

SOURCE: delta kitchen faucet mixed spray...diverter problem???

No a pull out sprayer problem is different.

First try this. Pull out the sprayer and remove from hose by turning nut that connects sprayer to hose. If you can get someone to help you it would be nice since the hose can go down into the faucet and might be trouble to retrieve. Look in the connection on the sprayer where the hose connects and look at the screen. If the screen is plugged or dirty clean and reinsert. If you can't clean it replace it. If this isn't working go to the next suggestion below.

In the spray head of the faucet there is a build up of deposits from use and or water hardness. Here is the link to the Delta site.

Delta Faucets

If you find you faucet model order a new spray head. Once these go bad they usually need replacing.

Hope this helps and please rate this!

SOURCE: I have a moen pull out kitchen faucet that leaks

You have a bad internal o-ring or the sprayer o-ring is leaking, if you look under the sink turn it off and then turn it back on, if you see it leaking out the center shft where the water pipes go into then the faucet may have a broken pipe or loose pipe. check and tell me where it's leaking at. You can buy kits to repiar them they are inexpensive.

Low water pressure in my grohe bridgeford kitchen faucet what could be the problem

Hi,
The first thing to check is the areator at the end of the spout...
They often plug with dirt and drop the water pressure...
Take that off and check out the water with it off...
Then if it is still low then it is dirt trapped internally in the faucet...

First unscrew areator from faucet spout, you might need pliers for this. Make sure the areator is clean, sometimes sedement from water lines can slow water down.
