Replace the breaker. It may be out of tolerance.

SOURCE: fridge/freezer trips my circuit breaker

This sounds like a grounded wire in your defrost system. Start by finding the defrost timer and checking the wires. One may have been pulled loose or pinched while it was being moved.

SOURCE: Fridge keeps tripping the circuit breaker

Your fridge should draw no more than 5amp. Presuming your breaker is at least 15amp there's a problem. Move to a different circuit first. If the condition persists check the start relay on the compressor. I have a suspicion the circuit may have another item you are not aware of.

get an inexpensive clamp amp meter (Harbor Freight has them). Turn off power to the plug. Remove plug from wall but do not disconnet wires. turn fridge OFF. plug the unit in the recept. turn on the power. set the meter for the higest reading (amps) & clamp it around the black wire. turn the fridge ON & observe start up current & the "run" current. If the fridge is within limits on the data plate the problem is in the wiring circuit, maybe a loose connection either @ the plug or the breaker. if there are several plugs in the circuit, the problem could be in one of them. In addition, if there is a gfi plug in this circuit, it could be faulty also.

It sounds like the defrost element is faulty and is causing a leakage to earth when the unit comes onto defrost cycle. Check the defrost element in the freezer compartment behind a panel cover.

SOURCE: Maytag model (MTB1950GR) tripped off the power switch and smell

Hi, It sounds like the relay onyour compressor. They will smell when it goes bad. Remove the rear panel on the back of the refrigerator and see if the smell is around the compressor.
Please let me know If I can assist you further.

Fridge freezer tripping rcd

Ensure it fully dries out before trying it again. Water in the electrics will throw your trip instantly. If it's dry now, and you are having the same problem. check the electrics for a short circuit or earth fault. Usually a compressor earth fault is to blame.

Why does my 15amp arc fault breaker trip when no one is in the house and when i reset it it won't trip right away but it trips roughly and hour later or longer

There must be something tripping the breaker whilst you are not in the house.

I would guess it is something like an electric water heater which cuts in from time to time. It is probably faulty and tripping the breaker - it may still heat the water so the fault is not obvious. Other things are air con units, fridges, pumps, anything that might come on whilst you are away.

Hello, my hotpoint FF187E fridge freezer keeps tripping my electric off, sometimes it will stay on for a couple of days other times it does this straight away, any idears would be appreciated, thanks...

you may have a burned wiring which when wet trips off you electricity. the location may be in front of your unit between the doors if you have a two door fridge. if you have a singole door unit it may be located on lower area of the fridge body which where the water flow down when you have excess water dripping infront of your fridge. those two location are most likely because the wiring installations from thermostat, heater, and ligth are there. ofcourse you have to check first the compressor and it's auxillaries

Normally if the fridge is tripping the circuit breaker, it is due to a short caused by the defrost element.

However, the second problem could be caused by a faulty timer.

Steam iron trips the main fuse

It could be your iron drawing too much current but it sounds more likely that you have a weak circuit breaker on that circuit. You might try the iron on a different house circuit to confirm if its actually the iron or the house breaker giving you problems.

ok Sounds like a place i would love to go but .... First, if the trip to the cabin was very bumpy chances are it sprung a leak and lost its gas charge , if this is the case , repairing it may cost more than replacement depending on the location of the leak , if the trip up to the cabin was smooth then consider this, When moving it around to load it up did you maybe move it around suddenly , and if you did this too would cause a leak specially considering  the age of the system, chances are its lost its charge and would require leak testing and repair , here in Australia anywhere up to $ 600.00

Amrican fridge freezer keeps tripping the electric. i changed the fuse and tried running it from a different socket but still it trips. is there something else that could be causing this to happen

if the unit is tripping the electric breaker, then there is a short in the unit. if you know how to use a resistance meter, you can trace your unit.

short could be coming from the power cord itself, check for broken wire and maybe touching the ground or the body of the unit.

next check your compressor. this is the biggest load of your unit. if this is shorted to ground, then it will trip your electric.

be care full on plugging the unit if you are not sure that you found the shorted wire, it might trip again.

if all of those still does not correct your problem, check the mullion heaters. but the connections of these heaters are sometimes very hard to find to check. their are hidden and only technician can sometimes find them.
