I posted this video explaining how to clean the heater core of the S3501.

If you have heavy mineral build up trying to clear it with out taking it apart will likely not work.

I have a scunci ss 1000 hand held steamer cleaner. Its been used and given to me from a friend. The steam comes out the trouble is the steam is not hot, just luke warm. how can I fix it myself.

Try descaling it with CLR. Add CLR and water, turn it on but not fully to produce steam, just get it hot. Leave it for an hour. Empty that out and out some more in. Get this up to steam for 10 minutes, switch off, leave it for an hour and empty it. Fill and rinse out twice. Fill with water and see if it is fixed.

Marg:

If you have been using tap water, your steamer is probably clogged with calcium or lime. I would pour some CLR (Calcium, Lime and Rust remover) into it and let it sit for a few hours. CLR can be bought at Home Depot or Lowe's.

Red devil steam mop no steam coming out

Add CLR to water tank. Let it sit for an hr to overnight unplugged. Plug back in, turn on steam to medium setting and wait about 20 minutes. Mine started to steam and I let it steam for 5 min or so. Empty out CLR, add only "DISTILLED WATER" and clean away. Good luck.

Whats is CLR referring to incleaning

CLR is the product name for a Calcium, Lime and Rust removal chemical - http://www.jelmar.com/CLRbasic.htm. There is likely an equivalent in the UK. Vinegar might also work, or a coffee pot or clothes iron cleaner as the problem with no steam is the mineral deposits left behind in the heater core or the check valve that feeds the heater core.
Using CLR once its clogged may not work - mine was really clogged up. Here is the video explaining how I cleaned out the heater core.

Shark stopped steaming how to fix this

It may be mineral deposits. Empty reservoir of water, add 1/2 cup of CLR. Let sit 1 hour. Take mop outside with a mop head on but not the cloth padding. Plug it in and start pumping the handle to prime it. I used cardboard to do this on to cushion the mop and soak up moisture. Keep pumping handle until the mineral deposits clear and full steam is coming out. When I was done, I unplugged the mop, dumped out remaining CLR, and rinsed out mop reservoir with water. Please add fresh water, plug in and steam out rest of CLR out of tube leading to mop head. Otherwise your mop will still issue out CLR steam. As always, be careful to unplug and let the unit cool down before adding or removing CLR, water or mop head. Steam can cause serious burns.
