I bought the "family" a KitchenAid Pro 6, Model KP2671SMC for Christmas. My son thinks it is for him, because he loves to bake. . . little does he know I have wanted one for YEARS!!! (or maybe he does know, LOL) I thought I got a great deal on Ebay, but I have found that the flat beater hits the side of the bowl on the left side only, and there is a big space on the right hand side. I have searched the forums, hoping to find some kind of answer. Someone suggested measuring the bowl before placing it on the stand (theirs measured 9-1/2"), and when I measured mine, it was approximately 1/8" less, so it was being squeezed. I successfully stretched the arms apart, so that it now measures 9-1/2" when attached, but the flat beater still hits the left side. I tried to lower the bowl with the adjustment screw, but it is turned counterclockwise as far as it will go, and it doesn’t clear the bottom of the bowl at all. I am not sure if the bowl support is bent, or what? Is there specs anywhere so that I can figure out the problem? Does anyone have any suggestions? I don’t know if this was damaged in shipping, or if it was sent that way, but I have waited soooo long to get one of these mixers, I would love to be able to resolve this problem.

Re: Kitchenaid Pro 6 Bowl Support bent?
Hi. Your mixer should still be under warranty. Call Kitchenaid Customer Service and tell them your story. If you tell them that you tried to fix it by spreading the arms, your warranty will be deemed void. Kitchenaid is usually very good at replacing under warranty. If you found this solution helpfull, pleas rate it Good luck! ricardok45

Kitchenaid does not make a 4 or 5 quart bowl that would fit your 6 quart mixer, but other 3rd party companies do!
You may be in luck.
I haven't seen this bowl in person, but it apparently will fit your 6qt mixer. Here is a link to a page selling the mentioned attachment. It comes in a set, with appropriate wire-whip attachments:
David, that is a 6 quart mixer but uses the new 7&8 Quart mixer parts, KitchenAid has been covering those with a really long warranty, I want to say 2-5 years, and none of the service centers have seen them come in yet. That is not a problem on the 5 or 6 quart older style bowl lifts that we have ever came across, the best thing to do would be to contact kitchenAid directly. Their number is 800-541-6390.
Find the screw in the picture as shown and screw it counter-clock-wise which will drop the bowl level down when it is in the raised position and the mixer paddle will not rub on the bowl.
Hi. I'll give you the cheap/fast solution first. Get a 2-3 ft. section of metal pipe that will fit over the bent arm, gradually, incrementaly and slowly bend the arm out using the pipe. check it at each increment for fit and level.
Now for the more expensive/slow solution. Find the nearest Kitchenaid "approved" repair service store. You will then be looking at a replacement bowl support and the labour to repair it. Be prepared to wait for up to a month for Kitchenaid to fill the parts order. If you find that these solutions have assisted you, please rate them. Good luck! ricardok45
