I don't have the system software to install, where can I get it

The answer to my initial question didn't work but the 2nd part of the answer says"if that doesn't work reinstall OS software" but I don't have that. what now?

    Windows XP and I was told that if restoring system to default settings didn't work I'd have to reinstall OS.

You do know a reinstall will erase all your data on the computer. A reinstall is a Last resort sort of thing. If you don't have, or purchase from ASUS, a DVD that came with the machine you will have to buy the Product Key to activate the New install.

    I checked a few other sites before this one and it was one of those that told me I would need to reinstall OS if the restore to default option didn't work. What happened is that when I turned my Notebook on yesterday I got a "reboot and select proper boot device boot device" so when I tried to do that , the hard drive comes up in parenthesis which means that it has been disabled. I don't how that happened. Another thing it says is "IDE Master undetected " same message for IDE Slave. I don't know what any ot this means but I'd like to resolve it myself.

    I would not take it personally. You can download a Windows OS ISO. Which version are you using ? Your computer came with Windows XP, Right?

Hi

If you dont have a windows disk you will not be able to re-install windows.


Pirate bay has windows installation software you can download for free but you will have to copy it to a disc to be able to install it.


The windows install is the easy part, its finding your drivers that will be the challenge.

    Hi first have to borrow or download the windows operating system for your laptop or pc, that means identify if your windows is running XP Vista or windows 7, once you have identified the operating system OS, download it from the ISO from pirate bay and burn a copy to CDR or DVD depending on size, next install the windows into your pc or laptop and when its complete look under your laptop for the make and model and type in that make model and drivers for your laptop once you have found the drivers download and follow the prompts to install them, give that a try i only charge $60 for any laptop or pc repair cheers

You also don't say how you installed the Applications, particularly if any of them were downloaded from the internet. If so, the download might have been, corrupt, incomplete or malware infected. Another potential source of corruption to System Files are corrupt, incomplete Updates downloads or interrupted Updates configuration processes.

It would appear that there has been some corruption to your Windows 7 64-Bit System Files.

The first issue to consider is whether all the Applications installed are 64 Bit or 64 Bit compatible. If not, uninstall the applications, but first you have to resolve the problem.

I suggest:

Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore > Restore my computer to an earlier time > select a highlighted date on the calendar to the left and an event in the event schedule to the right that both precede the error > Restore > Restart PC.

You can only safely install MS Office from a genuine MS Office Disc or download it from an Authorised Access, Multi-user Licensed ISO File on an office server. FTP Client Applications are the same. Safe, reputable, reliable online download sources abound, such as www.acebit.com.

If System Restore does not clear the problem and any applications were downloaded from the web, try running antivirus and antispyware scans to purge any infection found.

If none of the above works you might have to Restore to Factory Default Settings and install your Applications carefully again.

I don't know how you thought he could fix that leak when the trans has to come out? Take it to a transmission shop and stop guessing, and replacing perfectly good parts. Have the trans shop replace the rear seal while the trans is out.

I have been warned that i may be a victim of software counterfeiting how can i remove this warning come to normalcy that i don't need the software or window which didn't pass genuine window...


You need legal software...
Windows has two control: When you install windows: WPA. It is illegal to crack it with AntiWPA3.cmd patch or something similar.
You have second problem: WGA. It is illegal to remove it with RemoveWGA.exe tool.
I don't know why people can find this program on www.softpedia.com to download.
You need legal software...

How to connect mfc-5840cn printer with laptop


Not sure if your answer is correct, As I said Windows update thought it was downloading the correct driver and it didn't work correctly. I don;t want to say your link isn't helpfull, But I followed another suggestion and installed the Windows Vista Suite for the Brother MFC-5840CN all in one.and it not only fixed the problem it also installed all the multifunction drivers and software.So I am good for now. Thank you for responding to my delema. In case someone else needs it, Here it is.

Windows 7 won't bootup, has error recovery. it loads files then nothing. screen is black.


Had that problem a few times myself.
Only way I could fix was to restore back to factory condition.
As you boot, watch bottom of screen closely.
depending on system, Should need to press F2, F10, possibly F12, might even be Del.
Most likely you didn't get restore disk, or have made one.
If you do, insert disk before boot up. System should boot to DvD.
Don't forget once restored to update.

You didn't say what your laptop is. If it's Windows 2000 up to vista, you must use a system administrator account (e.g. administrator). Windows 7....out of luck. If it's a Mac, the software only works on OS X 10.3.9 to 10.4.10 Remember, you can always use a card reader to transfer pictures and then you don't need any special software. What you already have on your computer will work just fine. typrice_199.jpg

Does Hijaak Pro version 5 run on Windows 7 64-bit? I was running it fine on XP Pro SP2 (I believe). I have now installed it on my new laptop the newer OS and it fails to let me open any files...saying...


I installed it today on my system - Windows 7 Pro 64-bit operating system. It installed and took a while, but I didn't select the CAD drawing part to install; I just selected the Hijaak part to install to get screen clips. That part installed, and works, but differently than on XP. You can't change the option for the key to get the clip, so it is Ctrl/Shift/C. Then a white screen comes up (wish it didn't). If you know about where it was you wanted to clip from the picture you were seeing, you can select it using your choice that was set up before the clip - rectangle, window, screen, free selection, star, etc.. On the white screen make your "blind" selection and then it clips from the picture you were viewing. Then you can paste this into a MS Word or Photoshop. If that white screen didn't come up covering your picture, it would work fine -- don't know how you could get rid of that. In Photoshop the layers show the background as total white and then your clip as the 2nd layer and it has the white outside the selected area, which can be inverted to delete that white background. If anyone knows a work-around to not have that white screen cover up what you want to see - that would be great!

Also in the Windows Pro 7 64-bit you can choose to install Windows XP SP3 from the MS site and work with your old programs that way. I haven't tried this.

I bought an EZ DUB DVD CD REWRITABLE MODEL SHW-160P6SU but it didn't come with any software. So I am looking fort he drivers that make it work.

You don't need specific drivers to have your device running , it' s plug and play and should be recognized by Windows .
For burning or copying sofware , any one will do , you don't absolutly need EZ DUB .

MY DRIVER CD MISSING


Since you didn't give detailed info about your device model. I'll recommend you to directly try the Driver Detective tool and let the program have a free scan to automatically detect & update the missing drivers. This way things can be much easier & efficient. Also you don't have to risk install wrong drivers which might cause severe system issues.
