What buttons do I push to calculate continuously compounded interest on a TI-30XA? My professor said to push the e^x button, but it only results in an error.

    I figured it out. I was inputting the information in the wrong order. For the problem "How much will be in the account after 3 years if you start with $20,000 at a rate of 5.5% compounded continuously?" I had put in $20,000 and hit the e^x button, when in fact, I should have put in the 5.5% times 3 years and THEN hit the button, then multiplied by $20,000.

Where is the inverse button on a TI-30XA calculator?


It is the second function of the Pi button.
First you have to push the yellow 2nd button and after the Pi button.

e^x is the 2nd function of the LN key, second from the right on the top row of the keyboard.

How to make this operation in my texas instruments TI-30XA 3.55*10(to the 24)


Because this calculator does not allow you to enter formulas, you have to alter the formula a bit.

Instead of entering 3.55*10^24, enter (10^24)*3.55

Note: 10^24 is 10 to the 24.

Here is the procedure:
1) find 10^24. Do this by typing 10, pressing the yx button (which is right above the divide button), and then typing 24. Press the '=' button.

2) multiple the result by 3.55. Press the '=' button.

You now have the answer.

How do I calculate compound interest? I want to calculat 3500 (1 +.064) to the exponent 3.5 to get 4348.74. How do I perform this on my TI-30XA? Thanks.

You enter that as follows
3500[x] (1.064)[Y to the x]3.5 [=] . Note that [x] is the multiplication sign.
