MY MERCEDES BENZ C280 is blowing fuses. The brake lights weren't working. It smells like something plastic is burning. A Mechanic looked at it, he smelled the RELAY BOX, it smelled horrible.

He paid for a garage to fix it. Call a salvage yard and see what you can get the box/harness for. Some boxes are hard wired with the harness. Some aren't, plug/ bolt on harness. Hard wire is a pain. they go every where. Plug in's, just check the connectors for corrosion and being melted. Take yours apart first to see what you have.

This is one of six CKS3029s I bought five years ago for our retirement community. This one just stopped working, no light, no radio, nada. S/N 40628179PH. What to do?

My suggestion is to buy a new Clock Radio to replace the one that quit, they are cheap and unless you want to take it apart and service it yourself the cost to fix it would buy a new one.
If you do decide to take it apart then you want to look for burnt resistors on the electronic boards inside the unit. A resistor can be lots of sizes and can be many shapes but just look for a burn on or around all electrical components.

Hotpoint nvlr333etowb no heat.

Diode? Ain't no diodes. 3a90295.jpgIf all of theses items check good you might have a burred contact inside the timer. These dryers have a timer that is easy to take apart. Gently remove the motor and cover, look for a burr between the leaf switches. File em down smooth. Let me know.

Blower blows weak with A/C on; When A/C is off blows strong

This is not a blend door problem. It is a problem w/ your AC / Heater blower motor Resistor. When this goes out some vehicles will blow intermitantly. Others will blow strong in the low position and low on high. On my 2004 Silverado the resistor is located under the glove box mounted w/ 4 screws. It is a small black box no larger than a cigarette package. Laying flat on the floorboard look up and towards the center you shouldn't be able to miss it. Easy to change, simply plug the new one in and screw back in place. Took me 5 min.

Fan blower only blows at high speeds

I have fixed this problem on my 99-maxima. This was easy as replacing light bulb. Hard part is finding what is wrong and locating bad part.

This is very well known problem in Nissan cars (Maxima, Altima, Pathfinder). Culprit is the resistor. Your fan will not work on 1-2-3.

Here is direction how to fix the problem. Total price was $42 (parts from nissanparts.cc)

1). Part is located behind the glove box. (no need to remove box). Sneak head below the glove box and look up on the right side of the box. You will see a wire and connector and 2-phillips screw heads.

2). Remove the 2-screws and resistor and wire will drop.
3). Remove the connector by pressing the tab and pull it out.
Put the new resistor and reverse the process and DONE.

fan blower resistor. Under hood near blower motor. Follow the power that goes to blower back to resistor, there should be several wires on it. That's the most LIKELY source of your problems.

Under Hood Light, bulb is fine (brand new)

This is a problem with the control board, which we commonly repair for $32.50. This is caused by not disconnecting the microwave from the power line when removing or installing a bulb. Feel free to e-mail me at _ for more information or visit _ for full details.
