Question about Nikon Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED AF-S DX VR Zoom Lens
I dropped my lens a while back and broke a few pieces off the part where the lens attaches to the camera. I was able to very carefully crazy glue the broken pieces back and this held for a few years. It's fallen off again and i'm searching for a replacement part but having now luck. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: 18-55mm lens won't zoom
DON'T TRY TO FIX THIS YOURSELF! You will only add to the damage. If your lens is in warranty, contact Nikon for instructions to get it repaired. If it is out of warranty, I would either pay Nikon for the repair or take it to a camera repair man.

Try sending it to PhotoTech Repair Service in NYC. They are Nikon authorized, and can do the repair under warranty if you still have it. Also if you join they're facebook page, they will give you a 10% discount.
Here is the facebook page link, it has everything you need to send it in.

I have the same problem - the plastic bayonet lugs are the weak point on the lens assembly, but better that then breaking the camera body mating ring. I've dissasembled the rear of the lens and will try to reglue the two split lugs with cyanoacrylate glue. Be very careful not to mix up the 3 different types of screws, avoid damage to the multi-contact plate ribbon cable, and to not to loose the backfocus shims! Cheers.
