SOURCE: No hot water in our tankless water heater

Take off front cover, on the top of the two cylinders in there (the heating system) there will be a small red button. That is the Safety Thermal Cut out, depress that red button. It is similar to a circuit breaker. If the red LED comes on when you turn on hot water at a sink then that was the problem. I have on that trips periodically. Its annoying but not enough to replace the part yet. Good luck.

I recently had my primary heat exchanger chemically cleaned. My thermostat changed ad it had been re pressurised. The radiators all are working fine, but my water is still going hot and cold. What could it...

Could be the HW sensor, When you ask for HW, a switch ion the boiler will operate, usually part of what is know as 3 way valve. Different types of switch, you will have to have a look, could be a microswitch, in a unit to the side, you will be able to see if operating. But more likelly to be the 3 way valve itself, The internals do not switch fully, internal leaks etc. So inconsistent HW. Very easy to replace yourself, Turn off cold water, and isolate all the CH side, drain down the boiler, replace unit, reopen all valves, check pressure, off you go. You can get service kits for the 3 way valve unit, But for price diference, just replace, ebay a good place to to get one from

Bosch GWH 715 ES flashing EA code. This unit was working fine for over a year so I am assuming gas pressure can't be the problem? The spark is flashing and the unit lights for about 2 seconds then...

http://www.bosch-climate.us/files/201009031238250.GWH715ES_English_12.2008.pdf

Above are the manuals required to diagnose and service your error code.

EA: No flame ionization detected with water flow.
Verify that all manual gas shut off valves are open. Check gas type. Reset error code and open a water tap to cycle the heater in an effort to purge air on new installations. Cycling hot water tap on and off multiple times may be necessary. If heater still faults with EA error code, have a licensed gas technician properly purge air out of the gas line leading to the water heater. Check three wire connections to ignition group on the lower front of the heat exchanger are secure. Check gas pressure. Check venting specifications are met. Improper venting may cause premature failure of the flame sensor rod. Check that the minimum power fan speed has been adjusted to the proper value. Observe inside the viewing window of the heat exchanger when a hot water tap is opened. Sparking should be followed by a steady blue flame. If flame is unstable or yellow with proper gas pressure.

Error code C4 76. Water heater shuts off (only with shower use). Will reset and work 4-5 min. then off agin. works fine from sinks. Unit is app 3 years old and did work fine.

Before calling service technician, open following link for Rheem tankless resources, including error codes and general help for homeowner.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html

C7 76 is communication fault with remote control.
Remote is connected to tankless with a wire.
Usually you remove wires from terminals on tankless, and see if tankless functionality returns.
If tankless works fine, then it will heat to default 120 degrees.
Clean terminals and put them back.
If problem returns, then problem is then narrowed to bad wire, bad remote control, or problem inside tankless.
Since new remote control costs about $99, it might be cheaper to have service technician review the problem and catch up with maintenance.
Error codes are considered starting points for troubleshoot since error can have different soultion than same error on another unit.

Read manual for advisories, error codes, and required maintenance.
For example tankless might require monthly water filter cleaning, and yearly de-liming, and yearly burner cleaning.
Your service technician can advise what is typical for your region, since altitude, incoming water temperature, quality of water, water pressure, venting, are factors for maintaining water heater.

I keep getting a C2 11 error code. Unit lights and immediatly goes out showing that error. At other times it operates fine. The problem seems to be occurring more frequently. It has been in service...

that error code means not enough gas.
however, there might be something going on with your venting. it could be sucking exhaust air back into the unit. this will cause the same error code.
if your problem is intermittent, then I would suspect the venting to be the issue.

I have an Amtrol WH7L and the control panel is making a buzzing sound? Other wise it is working fine.

In a while the control unit will fail
On the Amtrol units the control is their weakness.Once it starts to buss it will last somewhere between a couple of weeks and a year, but it WILL eventually fail.
And while Amtrol advertise a "Limited lifetime warranty" the "Limited " part includes not putting any warranty on that control unit.

When the water stops flowing, there is a sharp-thud sound presumably in the unit.

If your thermal expansion tank is older than three years, it is probably time to replace it. There is a diaphragm inside the tank that goes bad over time. Before replacing this tank, if you have recently purchased a new washing machine, this may be the problem if it does not have hammer arrestors on it as well.
