Take a digital camera, or a camera phone, and get it ready to take a picture, point your remote at the screen, so you can see it in the camers, hit the input button, you will see the infa red lights flash on the remote through the screen, if you see it , then your main board in the tv isnt reading it, if you dont see it flash, there is a problem with that button on the remote, there should be an input button on the tv

Model LED2845A in setup I can't access the channel scan. I was able to access it when I first turned it on but can't any longer.

Check your current input. Use the Source or Input button to ensure that the TV is set to TV mode; there may be one on the TV in addition to the one on the remote. The icon may look like a rectangle with an arrow coming into the box from the left. The Channel Scan option is only available when the tuner is the active input. If you are using a universal remote, you may need to use a different code if the Input/Source button doesn't work. (Some universal remotes don't match this function at all. In that case, use the front panel button to change inputs.)

I can't find the model LED2845A TV. I see a Proscan PLED2845A and an RCA RLED2845A. The Source buttons are in different places on both the front panel and the remote on the two brands. Please add a comment with the brand of your TV if you would like to see where the buttons are for your model.

I hope this helps.

Will not go to HDMI, how do I achieve this

Assuming you have a functional remote, punch the "inputs" button. You should see several choices there, depending upon the make, model and how new or old your tv is. Use the up/down buttons on your remote to select the HDMI input you want. Make sure you indeed do have an HDMI cable connected to one of the inputs of your tv. If you haven't done that, you will not be able to access it. More information please. . .

Original remote lost. have universal remote. cannot program TV

On the right hand side of this television there are panel buttons. It appears that your son in law knocked the tv out of the correct input. Press the input button in order to cycle through the 5 inputs. Typically pressing the input button on the side panel of a television and pressing it again and again and again will make it change inputs. Universally the buttons on the tv panel function as follows: Channel up moves the cursor up. Channel down moves the cursor down. Volume + moves the cursor right. Volume - moves the cursor left.
Hope this helps

Need to switch to dtv from reg tv but dont have fac. remote

most universal remotes will only do basic functions on your tv like changing volume or channels only some will do menu functions or change input source. if you have a universal remote with a input or source button you can try it some cable and satelite remotes have this function and are discribed in the user manoal. If all else fails you can order a original remote from the manufacture or your local tv repair shop

Go to www.remotes.com and they will tell you in most cases how to revive your old remote! or order an orignal (which you may have to do to change the function!) tv remote for your model!

Mintex 37 inch wide screen. remote is working however cannot change channel, input source or volum. only turns tv off. The buttone on tv doesnot work connot change input source or volume

Check if the remote is in TV position, that is, because most of the remote controllers have the feature that you can program them for use with another devices. Make shure that one button that says "TV" in pressed and released once before you try to change any function on the TV.
