Question about HP Computers & Internet
If F10 doesn't work and you don't have a recovery disk then you will have to try and find a recovery disk from somewhere or re-install windows. If you don't have a windows disk and you can't get hold of one there is nothing you can do apart from taking it to be done somewhere.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: restore factory settings
what i would do is go into dos. If you cant get into dos find a windows 98 setup disk 3.5" this will have the dos files that will allow the computer to reconize a generic cd rom. This should allow you to get your recovery disk working. Your software problem could of created a firmware problem also. Not reconizing the cd rom. This solution will provide the basics to get your cd rom loading the recovery disk for you. If you have questions or more problems feel free to contact me and i will take you through it step by step

try to remove the bios battery for a second..it will reset the bios to the factory settings ...it might just work ...
I believe that the problem its one that developed after you changes some settings or after you installed some device that use that key for a different action ...

Don't you have created the password Recovery disk early?
If you do, you can sign into safe mode and recover the password.
If you don't have the password reset disk. you have to take use of the 3rd party utility,
Windows Password Recovery 6.0 is highly recommend. It is fast and easy to use.
