There may be a failure starting in the matrix drive board, or in the display itself. The area of failure can be verified with proper troubleshooting by swapping modules. These sets are mainly serviced by swapping modules, and then calibrating as required.

Considering the age of the set parts and modules may be difficult to find. Also, these sets are fairly expensive to service. Because of the age of the set reliability will be low even after service.

I would be seriously considering that it is time to start shopping for a new set when the fault becomes intolerable.

My lg plasma tv is cutting off the edges of the shows we are watching. I cant find a setting that will take care of it. Can you help

hmm normally these settings are found in the picture settings of the set top box or just a setting in the tv's picture settings now there might be an option to say fill screen that may work best for some or leave the tv in 16:9 some broadcasts may only be in 4:3 at times this is normal broadcasting and not much can be done unless the setting on the picture option is set to fill screen

I have pioneer plasma tv about 6 years old. I turned the power on, sound but no picture. Do you think it is worth fixing?

no
plasma tv units consume considerable power and the latest led units don't so for the extra cost of a new unit , there will be a power saving over the years

Help. Element 40 inch. Left home it was fine. No one was in the house came back and this is what it looked like

That is a LCD leak normally from pressure point or heat. It could have been hit prior and that he took a toll on it there's no repair unless you're replace the whole LCD screen. You're better off if you're still on the warranty try to get a replacement just let him know elite if he has no obvious damage
