Installed the Logitech 10.5.1 software, lost networks, access
I installed the Logitech 10.5.1. software and the Logitech Quickcam Deluxe camera, as instructed. I took down my antivirus software, installed the software from the CD, installed the camera to the USB as instructed by the software, and lost access to my wired network and to my wireless network. Eventually, I lost hal.dll in my windows system32 subdirectory and now cannot access my hard drive at all.
I have rebooted with BART CD from ALWIL; does not show viruses. I am at a loss as to how to get this machine back. It is an IBM X60 laptop in a docking station

Re: Installed the Logitech 10.5.1 software, lost...
Ok.. so the other way for that is to repair it using your Operating System disc. It repairs the missing or corrupted files. You don't have to worry because it will not remove your files from your harddisk. You will just choose Repair in the option menu when you boot from your Operating System disc.

Check your camera in the QuickCam software. If your camera works properly in the QuickCam software, then this issue is specific to Yahoo Messenger. Make sure you have the correct version of the Messenger installed for your OS. Also make sure that the camera driver is the correct driver for your OS.
If the issue persists, then I'm afraid you'll have to contact Yahoo Messenger support for a resolution.
