Your hard drive may be failing. try booting and pressing F8 and use repair option. If it is still the same you may need another drive.

SOURCE: New hard drive for my Toshiba Qosmio G15 R laptop

I believe with Toshiba they normally would give you a recovery disk and then a drivers and utilities disk as well. If you don't have both then I would suggest installing windows xp and then go to this page:http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=SB&os=&category=&moid=835452&rpn=PQG10U&modelFilter=G15-AV501&selCategory=3&selFamily=804517Click on the downloads button and from there choose your operating system and you can download the drivers from that page. You'll know which drivers you'll need by going into the device manager and seeing what has a yellow question mark next to it.If you need more help with this let me know and I'll help you more.

SOURCE: my hard disk drives is full

Hey, i it maybe because you have low disk drives space, also you have to look for the memory of your laptop, try to purchase much higher memory, and also the trojans that you can get in the internet can also slow your computer, try to install trojan remover also.:)

SOURCE: my hard drive burnt out. The hard drive test says

Try the recovery console from a windows xp recovery/install disk:
To run the Recovery Console from the Windows XP startup disks or the Windows XP CD-ROM, follow these steps:
1.Insert the Windows XP startup disk into the floppy disk drive, or insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.
Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive if you are prompted.
2.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
3.Select the operating system you want to repair (you may have only one option).
4.When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
5.At the command prompt, type the appropriate commands to diagnose and repair your Windows XP installation. From here I would try "chkdsk /r" and "fixboot"
For a list of commands that are available in Recovery Console, type recovery console commands or help at the command prompt, and then press ENTER.
For information about a specific command, type help commandname at the command prompt, and then press ENTER.
6.To exit the Recovery Console and restart the computer, type exit at the command prompt, and then press ENTER.
Once you've done this restart the computer and see if it boots up.

SOURCE: sudden ticking noise then blue screen with writing

When a hard diskmakes a clicking sound and the computer does not detect it then the hard diskis faulty. This is commonly known as "The click of death".
There is no way of fixing this hard drive, if you need to recover your data, then there are companies that can recover data off faulty hard drives BUT itwill cost you an arm and a leg for their services.

Your disk-drive is "dying" -- it is moving the read/write mechanism, which produces the noise, but it is not working well-enough to pull data off the recording surfaces.

Replace it. Reinstall Windows.

Slow acer aspire 5520g

Disk defragment is first step. This will locate files closer to each other on the hard drive. Should be located in system tools. Other than that I would save all important files externally and format the drive and start fresh. Beyond that, you would probably need to upgrade.

I have a Dell 2400 Desktop that all of a sudden won't access the login screen. It powers on then the hard drive makes noise with the green lights blinking but it then says press F1 to continue but

First thing, check to see if the is a floppy disk in the floppy drive, if so removes this disk. If there was no disk in the floppy drive then it may be a hard disk problem.
Check the BIOS to see if the hard disk is detected, if not open the case and re-seat the data cable on the hard drive and also where it connects to the motherboard disk controller.
If it still gives this error message and the BIOS does not detect this hard drive, then the hard drive is probably faulty.

To get the computer operating again, install a new hard drive in your computer and then install Windows on this hard drive plus the computer's device drivers and your programs.

Harddisk producing noise

If your hard disk is making noise-- BACK-UP all your data now! Noise from your drive indicates either you drive spindle bearings are about to seize up or your heads are crashing (actually scraping the media) on the platters. You will probably have a system failure and have to have the hard drive replaced.

I bought a new Y560A Lenovo notebook i7 500GB HDD 4GB memory While editing a big jpg file, system suddenly slow down. Check HD, C: only left with 7GB out of 500GB. I bought it to Lenovo HK maintenance...

Bad clusters are non working areas on the hard disk. When you run Chkdsk it locks out these bad clusters so data is not written on these areas and give you file errors.
Bad clusters are an indication that the hard drive is nearly worn out and the number of bad clusters will increase until the hard drive stops working.
I suggest you back up your data before the hard drive fails completely.
I recommend you replace this hard disk as soon as you can with a new one and install Windows on the the new hard drive, plus the computer's device drivers and your programs.

Makes slow click sound but not read by the PC

sure..you can take it to the local computer witch doctor, where they will snapshot your disk to see what's recoverable(usually around 50 bucks for that)..then quote a recovery price.

you may wish to consider this backup option next time around. click here for that information
