PROJECTOR SHUT DOWN AFTER BULB REPLACEMENT

I have the older Mitisubishi HD 1000. I ordered a replacement lamp bulb 8, 9 months ago and waited until the oldone finally stopped working, replaced it with the new lamp, set the lamp timer (I ehink I did it properly) and it played for about an hour then stopped. Now nothing on the machine works or lights up, even the power on button does not come on or light up. Its like it is dead. So since the first lamp was only waranteed for about 90 days I had to order another lamp and I do not want to mess this or anything else, so my question is: Is there any thing I am missing in replacing the lamp? Is it proper for the entire machine to stop working when the lamp is dead? Can I test the replacement bulb in the machine to make sure it is the problem? Is there a reset button on the machine or ??? Anotherwards is it the machine acting up or is the replacement lamp faulty? All I really need to know is how to get the machine running again.I cannot afford to go through too many lamps at $300 a pop

To reset the lamp operation time on a Mitsbishi XD480U:

Plug in the power cord, turn on the lamp, and press the Left Arrow button, Right Arrow button, and POWER buttons on the control panel ALL AT THE SAME TIME, holding them all down for about three seconds.

Notes:
•Unless these three buttons are pressed at the same time, the lamp operation time isn't reset.
• Make sure that the STATUS indicator is lit twice and the lamp operation time is reset successfully.
• The projector doesn't turn on if the lamp cover isn't attached securely.
• Be sure to reset the lamp operation time whenever you replace the lamp.
• Do not reset the lamp operation time unless you replace the lamp.

As you replace the lamp and reset the timer it should work. But if its not working then there are few reasons. The lamp door switch/lever is not closed properly or its loose.Check that.If its ok,then other possibility, the replacement lamp is working but its not compatible to your tv.On some tv models they dont detect compatible lamps. They see only original lamp.If that is not the cases then other possibility is that the lamp is faulty. --------- To get replacement lamp online there are few online sites. Please click on this link directly:---There are 2 types of lamp.one is original and one is compatible.the original is costly.see both. http://www.partstore.com/SearchModel/Mitsubishi/Mitsubishi/X500U.aspx ------------ There is one more link:---

The projector lamps always burning out. I think, the cooling system does not work? How does the projector work?

Make sure not to shut down the projector after use. Wait until the fan stops. The fan is to cool down the bulb during and after use. Once the fan stops, then you can shut it down.

WHY DOES MY HD OPTOMA DLP 70 TURN OFF AFTER FEW MINUTES?

If you have recently replaced the bulb you may need to reset the lamp counter in the projector menu.
If you have not replaced the bulb, the projector may be shutting down due to over-heating. Check that the projector is clear of as much dust and debris as possible.

carefully take the lamp cover off, and see if there is any glass pieces inside. if all looks Ok, then unscrew the lamp housing and remove the lamp. check for any damage. be careful not to damage the lamp or bump it. These lamps generally contain mercury vapour, so try not to inhale anything if it's broken.

When i turn on my projector it stays on for a few seconds

On your Cinego remote, push the setup button (bottom row, second from the right). Using your number keys and their corresponding arrows (7, 0, 9, 5), move to management, and then down to "lamp reset." Push enter (8) and follow the prompts. Always be sure to use Economy Mode (top of the management list) each time you turn on the Cinego to drastically increase your lamp life.

I had the same problem with very few hours on the lamp. Sent it back to the factory and they said the fan was overheating causing the bulb to shut down. They replaced the fan and the bulb for free under warranty. I noticed before I sent it the projector was putting out an incredible amount of heat. MUCH better after fan replacement.

Mine does the same thing and I just replaced the bulb after waiting almost 6 months and I purchased one directly from Radio Slack. It will turn on for about 10 seconds and then goes into shut down.....At three hundred dollars I can't see putting another bulb in, when this one has less than 50 hours on it.

What do you think
