Removing grill covers of Clarion 6.5" marine speakers

Put a piece of cardboard next to the speaker to protect your boats finish. Then use a flat bladed screw driver to gently pry the grill covers off. you may need to work your way around the perimeter, with a little bit of effort it will pop off. There will be 4 screws under the grills holding the speaker to the boat which are easy to remove.

Speaker rattles.

Are these after market speakers or original cloth trim covers. if they are aftermarket metal covers in a plastic rim a small amount of glue or double sided tape should keep them from moving, if they are cloth trim covers check the tabs at the back of the cover to see if they have broken due to wear. if the tab is still intact you will need to pop the door trim off and push the cover back into place then bend the smaal tabs back to meet flush with your door triim again.

I need to know how to get to the door speakers before i break anything. i dont know if you can take the speaker cover off or if yoy have to take off the door panel.

If you want to replace the speakers, you will have to remove the door panel. Removing the cover will only allow you to clean the cover or remove any foreign matter from the speaker cone.

1991 front speaker replacement

ok, i don't have pictures but i'll see if i can help. usually the covers over the speakers either have two srews holding them down or they just need a flat screwdriver to pry them up. if they have srews, you'll need a very small screwdriver to fit in between the window and speaker cover. some screws are star screws which need special star tool to get out. but most are philips screws. if you can get the covers off, you'll see the speakers, now you'll just need to take the two screws holding them down, out.pull the speaker up and out, unhook the wires and replace them. if you have the kind of covers that just pry off, just be careful not to hit the glass, i put up a piece of cardboard to be safe..i hope this helps you.

Help with opening them

A215 has a detachable front (grey) cover. It is attached on 4 coaks (pins). Just push a flat screwdriver under it and turn slightly - the cover will go out a little. Do it around the cover - and it will be detached. You will see 6 screws (or 4 in the left speaker). You need to unscrew them all.
