Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
Fl is the code for a pump takind too long to drain. you have the buzzing so hopefull it is just clogged with small sock or debris from a yarn type item. to access pump (there are two types) unplug washer if you can bring it outside as this can hold lots of water. if not have a large wet vac handy. tilt washer 45 degrees to access bottom panel . remove three 5/16 screws, remove panel. the pump has one beige hose, one black. unclip or remove 4 torx screws depending on the type pump. clear pump. re-assemble. if indoors very important to slowly remove beige hose while running vacuum if not several gals of water will rush out. if this is a pump with the grey housing and it occurs immediately you have probably stripped the pump shaft and will have to replace it with the newre style pump. which will be the same procedure just one more step. the pump retails about 88 dollars. good luck

Sounds like something is stuck in the drain pump, maybe a sock. Remove the front panel by sticking a small screwdriver or putty knife just above the front panel to release 2 clips. Drain pump is located bottom right with 2 hoses connected to it. Drain the machine and remove the hoses. Check for obstructions.

This problem, or some variation thereof evidently is very common with these Whirlpool Washers! I have same problem. So far, best I have found is at
diagnosis by someone who knows. What William Burk says there makes sense. However, to get to the drive block there's quite a bit of disassembly required. I am stopped because I cannot get the spanner nut off. Hope this gives you some help toward finding a more comprehensive answer

SOURCE: my washer will not spin,
I believe your drain pump filter is just clogged. The drain pump is trying to pump the water out before the Spin cycle, but can't. Usually this is caused by a foreign object that is obstructing the impeller. See my tip on how to access, drain & clean the Drain Pump Filter:
ACCESS, DRAIN & CLEAN THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER
After this, the Spin cycle will run, after the drainage procedure. If it does not, then you may need to replace the Drain Motor. Which is a easy task.
Kind Regards :-)
