Question about Computers & Internet

Problem solving involving motion

Translate the English statement into math symbols and solve the resulting equation.

Let **x **be the number you are seeking.**42 more than some number** translates as **some number +42**

But the some number is 8 times your number **x**, 8x

You have

8x+42=114

Isolate 8x=114-42=72

Isolate x: divide both sides of the equation by 8

x=72/8=9

Your number is x=9

We don't know - how did you solve it ?

Hi,

Step 1 - put the numbers in order from lowest to highest

Step 2 - find the median - 2nd Quartile

Step 3 - find the 1st and 3rd Quartiles

Step 1 - 90 96 100 114 114 120 121

Step 2 - 2nd Quartile, in this case, is the fourth number from either end, since there are 7 numbers - 114

Step 3 - 1st Quartile - the midpoint between 96 and 100. (96+100)/2 = 98

Step 4 - 3rd Quartile - the midpoint between 114 and 120. (114+120)/2 = 117

Good luck.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Paul

114 is 19*6, so 7/19 is (7*6)/114 or 42/114 .

Can't find a manual. This is a 76mm reflector on a Alt/AZ mount.

1. During the day, put in the 20mm eyepiece and point to a object around 100 yards away.

2. Focus on the object

3. Align the finder to the object in the eyepiece

4, Set up at night, give the scope time to reach outside temperature

5. Point scope with finder at the moon. (More than half full will be too bright)

6 Use the lowest power eyepiece (highest number) and focus on the moon.

7. You may now use higher power eyepieces to observe.

8. Pointing the scope usually involves loosing 2 knobs to move the scope in up/down and side to side motion. There may be slow motion controls to adjust the scope as objects in the sky move.

I am unsure of what your question is? You want to know how to do multiplication of two digit numbers? Or are you looking for the answer to your question of what is 6 x 19?

I will answer both ways in hope that it solves your question at hand.

To do multiplication of two digit numbers, take the number with two digits and write it down like this:

19

Then write the next number under it like this:

19

x 6

____

Take the number 6 and multiply it by the number 9. You get 54. But you can't write 54. You write the 4 and carry the 5 and put it above the number 1. Then you multiply 6 x 1 which is 6 and add the number 5 carried above which becomes 11. It looks like this:

5

19

x 6

______

114

Your answer is 114.

I hope this answers your question?
