There are Linux password removal programs on the Internet. It is designed to remove passwords on NT, Win 2K and XP.
You copy the program to a CD and boot up from this CD. It allows you to reset or remove the users and administrator passwords.
Google search for these programs "password recover"

You can remove or change the Window's User or administrator's password. You need access to a computer with Internet access to download the Hiren's Boot CD and burn it onto a CD. Then insert this CD into the laptop/computer and boot up the laptop/computer with the Hiren's CD and follow the instructions. There are very useful utilities CD and it a Linux boot CD which contains quite a lot of Utility programs including a password removal program. Click on one of these links to download HIREN'S BOOTCD :- http://www.hirensbootcd.net/http://184.108.40.206/
It is unfortunate that you forgot the password that you set on the computer. As of try booting the computer to safe mode, usually the default administrator account will not have a password. If it works then you can change the password of your profile.
Otherwise, recovery will be required. As you have not mentioned the VAIO model #, it is difficult to tell if the computer was shipped with recovery partition or discs. You need to perform a recovery using the applicable one in this situation.
You need to contact the seller. If the laptop was not stolen, the seller will give you that information. If not, return it to the seller for a refund.
There are a lot of stolen items auctioned through ebay and others. Legitimate sellers will help you.
If it a problem of the router password then you boot up the laptop and run IE. In the address windows type 192.168.1.1 and press enter. You will be asked the admin ID and password. Enter that. Then only would you be allowed to change something.
Once you have logged into your router then select Security->WEP Key. here you will get an option to see the password in clear. Select this option and the password for the internet connection will be available to you. No that you know the password. Boot up the Sony Vaio and when asked for password, use this password and start surfing.
Hello, You call the IT professional at the Company you used to work for and ask him/her nicely to erase the administrato password on the laptop that you bought from them (with proof of purchase maybe), so that you can use this hardware. If the IT guy does not want to do this favor for a former colleague, go to the immediate supervisor and so on up the hierarchical ladder of the company. If you are persuasive enough, you may not have to reach the chairman of the board to get a redress.
You can also buy a retail OS or one of the free Linux distributions and install it.
If so, shutdown the laptop, turn power on, and after the Sony splash goes away tap the F8 button several times until you see menu come up. Select the first option "Safe Mode". Allow the computer to boot to safe mode. It may have you select a user to log into, you need to select Admin. Provided there is no password to the Admin account, login and goto control panel. Under control panel select the Users icon, once that windows has come up, select the user acct that has the bad password, and select Remove Password. That will remove the password to that account.
Log into your computer as administrator to do this. Most likely the password is Administrator, Admin or something like that and the password will be either blank or the same as the user name 'Administrator' or 'Admin'. Once logged in as administrator you can change the computer passwords and users accounts.
