Are you saying that both video and audio drivers doesn't recognize in xp?if so, find its approriate drivers on the internet manually although it takes time, that's the only way to find the most compatible drivers for your system 'coz xp's updaters are ****

hope this helps:)

Hello,

Thanks for using fixya.

My name is Carlo.

Your computer might not pass the system requirements that's why it has an error. Or, you can try installing it one more time and check if it will work. Computers do mess up sometimes.

Here's the system requirement of SIMS 3:

Desktop PC (Windows XP + SP2):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2000+ Processor
RAM: 1 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce FX 5900 or Radeon 9500)

Desktop PC (Windows Vista + SP1):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2400+ Processor
RAM: 1.5 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce FX 5900 or Radeon 9500)

Laptop (Windows XP + SP2):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2000+ Processor
RAM: 1.5 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce Go 6200 or Radeon 9600)

Laptop (Windows Vista + SP1):
CPU: 2ghz Pentium4 Processor or Amd Athlon 2400+ Processor
RAM: 2 GB of RAM
GPU: 128mb Video Card (GeForce Go 6200 or Radeon 9600)

IF your computer does not pass the system requirement, then you cannot play sims3 in your computer.

I hope this helps. Thank you for using fixya

Gateway 5310 series Multi videocard output

The MB video, is automatically disabled when you plug in any other card, accordingly, usually it is "Enabled" when it is taken out. You can adjust the Video RAM size sometimes via the BIOS, though. Now to get the drivers, look on the MB, there will be a set of big, Numbers and Letters, usually white, or black, by one of the slots, that is the Motherboard's identity, or get Everest, a free MB identity program, now, using that number Google, that-number + motherboard drivers, That will get you them, download and install. XP SP2, would be better...

Audio card Driver downloads issue

Did you install from the ACER-provided CD/DVD disks,
or from a "generic" Windows XP CD-ROM?

Have you tried using Windows Update, and clicking "custom" scan, and then clicking the "hardware" label, to see if Windows Update has found any updates for your hardware?

Choppy audio windows vista

If audio is choppy it indicates the processor is "busy" and it is buffering due to some other process using up resources and keeping the machine busy so it cannot stream the audio properly. Possibly check the running processes and see which ones have high cpu usage and turn them off, then try it. It may also be a media player issue - have you tried updating the media player or reinstalling it - sometimes installing a service pack will cause a problem with the actual media player - reinstalling them usually fixes that problem.

I reinstalled windows xp and loaded the video drivers for a radeon 1650 pro video card. It stays on until it is ready to enter windows and then blanks... I have to go back in safe mode and uninstall...

Just making sure............you definitely have the Radeon 1650 Pro Video Card? Is there video built into the motherboard? Meaning, without the Radeon card installed, is there a VGA connection available? Have you updated your BIOS?

These are signs of either a faulty video card, memory issues or a defective power supply. Im probably goona lead towards a bad power supply then I would try the rest. Any questions just email me again.

Good luck.

ATI RADEON 9550 X 1050 256MB --Someitmes Screen goes blank

I read somewhere that this black screen/blank screen problem is due to a hardware conflict with AMD boards that use a VIA northbridge chipset.  So I tested this by installing the video card on a AMD board with a SiS chipset.  Since installing on a board with the SiS chipset, I have had NO problems whatsoever.  I am convinced it is a hardware incompatibility issue.
I also am running an older version of Catalyst, version 7.7, per recommendations from others.  I have heard the X1050 has problems with 7.8 and above.  I admit, I have risked it and subsequently updated the drivers through windows update, without any problems, but have not updated Catalyst.  Still running fine.
