Dell Studio fan unbearable noise

Is there any on how to stop the strong fan clicking sound when it spinning ? it is as if the fan it touching something inside. it can get quite at times when i give it a good hit, but will come back to its noisiness quickly.

Thanks Dana, I may have solved it just now, I opened the bottom part of the leptop, loosen up the upper plastic cover of the fan and the noise stoped, so I input small sheet of paper to make a bigger gap between the fan and the cover on top of it, after closing it all back it seems fine now.

It might be cloged and unballanced with dust Try using a compressed air cleaning bottled . to remove the dust, if it is still making noise I would suggest that you have it repaires because if it stop completely it could overheat your motherbord and cause dammage

There are small plastic drive gears that respond to the drivebelt. These gears are very fragile and may have come out of syncronization.

SOURCE: Dell Studio 1737's power pack makes a shrieking, humming noise

I would stop using the adapter immediately. It could be about to blow. When one of these blows, you can get smoke, sparks and fire. You don't want that to happen when you are not around. Further you don't want to have a voltage spike from the adapter to *********** board. You can buy a new adapter at Walmart or whereever. Just be sure that it supports Dell computers. Dell uses a third pin frequently. Check the voltage and amperage of your current adapter. You should see something like 19V and 3 Amps. Make sure that your replacement adapter works within those rages.

You can also buy an exact match from Dell or ebay.

Expect a good Universal adapter that you buy at Walmart to be in the range of 50-100.

The good thing about a universal adapter is that you can use it on another notebook later.

SOURCE: how do I eject a

Hi there,

If the physical eject button is not working try going to:

Start-> Computer -> Right click on your Disk Drive and chooed Eject

If that wont work:

Shut the computer down, Press F2 on the DELL logo Welcome Screen and then try the eject button on the Disk Drive

If that doesn't work:

Try finding a paper clip and try if you can reach the Disk inside to push or pull it out.

If that doesn't work:

You would need to call DELL so they can send a technician to have the Slot drive replaced. :(

Hope this helps!

Dell optiplex 760 tower fan noise problem

Its important to try and distinguish where exactly the noise is coming from the most typical example of this is the PSU fan (Power Supply Fan). The above also is very correct but its better to eliminate each point of failure.

My Dell Studio XPS 7100 Desktop Computer has suddenly developed a whirring sound. What could cause this?

That is a fan causing the problem. First thing to do is open the side panel and clean out the dust, sometimes that helps. Next, with the side panel open, turn on the computer and look to see which fan is causing the noise, they are easy to replace. If it is the CPU fan it may be a more involved repair but its usually not too bad.

No sound from my dell desktop just noise but when i plugged in the headphone it works

The noise could be the cooling fans. You may have to go into the audio setup in the control panel to enable and configure your speakers.

I have a Dell studio XPS 16 and there is a random clicking noise at certain times

you may want totry to note the source of the noise to pinpoint the possible cause. note if it is fron the hard drive, speakers or the fan. once you have found the source, you may then get warranty replacement if still active for the part generating it. other things to try would be to update bios and hard drive firnware if applicable which can be downloaded through the dell support site. you can also run the Dell diagnostics tool for abnormal noise to try to verify the source of the noise. hope this helps

The fan of dell gx280 producing a loud sound, how I fix it ?

Sometimes something is stuck in the grill and the blades keep touching it, other times the bearings have worn down and the fan or entire power supply needs replacing.  I used to hit my PCs noisy fan with the palm of my hand and the loud noise stopped!

Dell desktop suddenly making surging noises from the tower .It doesn't feel hot.8 months old.Surging lasts a few seconds

this sounds like the hard drives working extras hard. can be caused by malware and viruses as well as anti virus software and realtime protection. the computer might also have a bad bearing in one of the computers fans when you shutdown and power backup listen to the back by the power supply. see if its coming from their or from the cpu cooler. replace as necessary.

Strong noise notebook, CPU gets hot 75-80C

The fan may be faulty, it may have stopped or spinning slow.
Check the fan and clean dust/lint off the fan blades and heatsink fins. Spin the fan blades with your finger to see if it spins freely.
If necessary replace the fan.
