Hi, we just got a ps3 and have been playing it and it's great, but the last couple of days any words or some graphics on the outside when gaming are highlighted in red, like it's 3D. looks like a double words but in red, what could this be, thanks

Have you tried to use the control, attached to the console with the USB cable?
If that works, it might be that the internal battery is not holding charges anymore.

Usually heat or bad sectors/ corrupt sectors on the hard drive will cause this issue.

I'd recommend getting two cans of compressed air, taking it outside and clearing out the dust, then when you play cod run a mini fan directly onto the unit.

COD runs heavy on the graphics hence it happening more with that game than others ;)

SAFE MODE

1) Place you finger on the on/off sensor keep it their until your console turn off. Remove your finger.

2) Place you finger back on the on/off sensor keep it their until you hear 2 consecutive beeps then take your finger off.

3) Choose the last option PS3 SYSTEM RESTORE.

NOTE: A system restore will delete all saved game data. It is recommend backing up your console if possible.

if the problem persists outside of the ps3, i'd say its time for a new tv. however if it doesnt you can try checking your video plug and make sure its still securely in there

sounds like a dead Laser they are a dual laser will read DVDs n CDs but wont read Blueray movies or PS3 games Laser might need replacing

this is the problem of graphics. ur graphics chips set was not able to run the movie,game etc....
u have to repair ur play station......

Did you try resetting your ps3?

go to system settings and restore your ps3, when you do this it will delete everything but it will just start you fresh and brand new all over again.

hi ive been having problems when you put in a disc and it doesn't respond. is that whats happening to yours? if so i spoke to sony on saturday and they promised me a patch is out tuesday 8th so tomorrow, that is going to repair all disc loading problems, as it is hppening to thousands of ps3's. so wait till tomorrow download the patch if it doesn't work take the ps3 back to where you got it from, as it is less than a week old they will just replace it for a new one. hope this helps you
