Evesham is no longer in business but the following url is for a company that supports their products..
http://www.tewktech.com/

As a matter of fact, I understand this company has ex-Evesham employees. Good Luck and please rate this solution ..

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

As soon as i turn on my gps it starts to boot up

I can help you reset and fix your Garmin Nuvi 265W.

Getting stuck on the flashing Garmin logo, or a message about not finding any maps, or freezing and rebooting, are indications that the firmware / system software inside your GPS has been corrupted.

There are three steps to take to get your Nuvi 265W running like new:

  1. Back up your Favorites.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset.
  3. Download and then run Garmin WebUpdater to replace its firmware / system software.

I hope that helps.

How to restart if it freezes. Sometimes without any reason it freezes. The only way out is by draining out the battery and then it starts working.

make sure its charged for atleast two hours.

if it freezes, you can press and hold the power button for 15 seconds until it shuts off then do the same to turn it on and it will reset by itself.

Freezes up while in use

Coincidentally I had exactly the same problem yesterday. Use the reset button behind the silver faceplate. Instructions in the manual. Mine now works fine and I didn't even lose my preset destinations.
