which Dish Network system do u have. If it is the Hopper they program a little easier that the others. but if you have anything other than the hopper u do this. #1 turn onTV,#1 take Dish Remote,#3 press and hold down the TV button on top of the remote, hold it till all four lights light up.#4 press the small red TV button,# now press and click the channel Up or Down , do this one click at a time , (do not just press and hold ) this may take 200 clicks so don't give up. #5 when the TV goes off u quickly press the #(pound button) located on the bottom right of the remote. the TV button on top should flash 3 times. Now try to turn the TV back on.Ok now if you are clicking the channel button too fast and the TV turns off and u pass it up no sweat,,just hit the # button anyway.. and start from the beginning again, but this time use the OTHER channel button the TV should turn off within a couple of clicks. (that saves you from having to hit the button another 100 tries.. ha good luck

Hi, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. The information you provided leads me to believe that you will need to address your DISH Network remote to your Toshiba TV. There are a few different codes for each of our different models of remotes. I will list here for you the codes for our more popular models of remotes and also the instructions for addressing your remote to your TV. I hope you find this information useful and if you have any further questions or concerns feel free to email me anytime at Cheri.Torres@Dishnetwork.com and I will be happy to help!
Instructions for addressing the remote to the TV
Turn the Television On
Press and Hold the TV Mode button until all other mode buttons light up red.
Enter the three-digit code using the buttons on the number pad.
Press the pound(#) button. Note: The LED will flash three times.
Test functionality with the TV
Return to Step 2 if the remote is not able to turn the TV On/Off, change the
volume and mute the television.
In order to program the remote to the TV turn the TV on and put the remote in SAT mode by pressing the SAT button in the upper left hand corner of the remote. Now press and hold the TV button Next to the SAT button until all buttons light up across the top of the remote and release. Now press the small red TV button and release. This should result in the top clear TV being lit constantly. Now press the arrow up key slowly until the TV turns off. Once it does press the arrow down key once and then the arrow up key. The TV should turn on. Now press the pound symbol at the botttom right of the remote. The TV button on the top should flash three times. Now you can use the remote to control the TV. If you are unable to get the TV to turn off then the TV is not compatible with the remote.
If the remote is not controlling the receiver first ensure that you have the correct remote for that location. If you do and it is at the receiver location ensure there is nothing blocking the IR cells on the front of the receiver. If it is a duo receiver and the issue is with th TV2 location ensure that the small antenna is on the back of the receiver in the correct port. Verify the remote addresses of the remotes are set to the same addresses as the TV displays in the system info screen. If you need further assistance let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.
If you are looking to have the Dish remote operate your TV, just do a random search for your tv. First, hold down the tv button on the dish remote until all the rest of the light up. Next press the tvpower button on the dish remote. Next, press the channel up button (this is the up arrow button) until the set turns off. When it does turn off, press the # key at the bottom right of the remote. The tv button will light and flash twice. That's it. Your done. Hope this helps.
If you are trying to use a Dish Network remote control, then you are probably out of luck. Most Dish remotes do not have remote codes for TV/DVD or TV/VCR combos. There are just too many codes out there to put into one remote control. I'm sure they tried to walk you through a code search (hold the TV button down, etc.), so if it didn't show up then, then you are probably stuck with using two remotes or adjusting manually.
If they didn't try a code search, then try this:
Turn the TV on manually. Then, press and hold the clear TV button at the top until all the buttons at the top turn red, then release. Press and release the TV power button (the smaller red power button), and press the channel up button. Repeatedly press and release the channel up button about once a second until the TV turns off by itself, then press and release the # button at the bottom right hand corner of the remote, and the TV button will flash 3 times, confirming that it took the code. Press and release the clear SAT button at the top left, and then you should be good to go.
If the TV never turns off during the code search, and the TV button at the top of the remote flashes a bunch of times everytime you press channel up, then there are no more remote codes. The remote does not have the code for your TV.
On your dish remote, press and hold the tv button until all 4 buttons light up, then release. push either of the power buttons once. Now start pushing the down channel button, It's the one right below select, continue pushing it until tv turns off. When tv goes off push down button one more time then push up button, when tv turns back on stop and press # key, tv light will flash 3 times and should be set. Note....if u press down button and tv does not turn off after going through all codes( tv light will start flashing) press cancel and try again only channel up this time. hope this helps.
This is the preferred method of code searching our technicians use.
1. TV on. 2. On your Dish Network remote PRESS AND HOLD the small clear tv button until all buttons across the top of the remote light up and release. The only button lit should be the clear tv button that will be flashing. 3. Press the small red tv button next to the power button and release it. This should leave the clear tv button that was flashing lit solid. 4. Now slowly depress the channel up key until the tv turns off. Each time the up channel button is depressed the clear tv button will cease being lit and once it is released the clear tv button should remain solid. If the clear tv button flashes multiple times it usually means there is no known code for your tv, there may be another code that will work so continue on. 5. Once you are successful in getting the TV turned off press the channel down button once and then the channel up button. This should turn the TV back on. 6.Press the # key button on the remote. The clear tv button should flash three times then press the record button and try the volume up/down and the small red tv button. You should be able to turn volume up and down and turn tv on /off. If only one of these function it means that you have only found a half code and need to try the process again. Not all TV's have full codes or any codes at all especially combo units. I hope this helps you and thanks for using Fix Ya.
