Question about Computers & Internet
Hi new problem...on my belco alpha 400 linux 2.4 i hav got the wireless connection working but istill hav a problem.i cant get any web pages 2 load, either wit the wireless connection r direct connection by the ethernet cable...canany1 please help.all it says is"unable 2 find proxy server" thanx forany help.and also is it possible 2 wipe the linux op off and install windows?
Your laptop has an internal wireless and has the necessary software pre-installed. Is your wireless router or modem not found when you refresh the wireless networks list? If it is found, did you highlight it in the list and click on the "connect" button at the bottom of the screen? And does it indicate "connected"? You mention "Proxy server" is a proxy server required for your internet connection? If no proxy is needed for your connection, you should delete any such from the laptop's settings.
Linux and your laptop were rather made for each other. While I'm sure it's possible to buy a copy of the Windows operating system and install it on the system, you would need to boot from USB and use an external CD rom or somehow put the Windows installation disk on a thumbdrive and make the drive bootable. And then there may not be Windows drivers written for all of your hardware.
If you find my suggestions to be helpful, please share with us some details so that others may benefit from knowing the whole story. Thank you!

If you still can't access webpages to load using different web browsers, then the problem is in your internet connection server. Also about your 2nd problem, go to this link:
