I have problems with the Philips SA018 4gb MP3 player. While it is connected to the computer the it shows green once it is disconnected it goes red and nothing works. The battery should be fully charged as it shows green, but as I have said once it is disconnect it turns red and that's it...there is no joy.I wonder is there a problem with the battery...? Has anyone else had this kind of issue?

My Philips GoGear MP3 Player is stuck

Been using this for a few months. Froze up on same song while on vacation last month, and continued to play same song on repeat until battery went down. Now is frozen with "Do Not Disconnect" as it was being charged on my laptop. Attempted to unplug and plug back in and Windows gives DO NOT DISCONNECT!!!!!

I am having the exact same problem!!!!!

I was downloading music to my go gear, it started making a weird noise, i disconnected it and now it is frozen. the screen says do not disconnect. how do i do a soft reset?

Reset the player by holding the off-switch and the volume-+ (plus) switch.
If this doesn't help, connect the player to power and pc, repeat the above, and as soon as the player shuts off, press and hold the volume- - (minus) switch. The philips device manager should come up now and recommend a repair, let it do so.

FROZEN!!

First, try resetting the GoGear. Make sure the GoGear is on, if possible. Use a small paperclip or other device and press it into the reset hole. If the reset doesn't work, then:
Disconnect the GoGear from the computer and turn the GoGear off - hold in the volume + button and continue to hold it as you reconnect the GoGear to the computer; after holding the volume + button for up to 20 or 30 seconds, a window will open up saying that your device is being repaired (now you can let go of the volume + button); after the repair is successfully complete, your GoGear will be good as new.
