Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I am having a home entertainment center being installed as I speak. However, I just bought a LC52D85U 52"aquois hdtv. I need to know what the height is with the TV on its corresponding pedestal. The opening in my home entertainment center only has an opening (because of shelf) of 33.5 inches. If the TV set, itself, is that height and I have to add inches because of the pedestal, I just threw away the money I spent for the entertainment center. Please advise.

I told the delivery men I didn't want the TV. I told the furniture delivery men, I didn't want the product and take it back. If I can't find something simple to fix without paying for it, forget it.

You should have a proper guide about disassemble procedure. If you wish to get some details about it, check the site linked here.http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Either pull up older posts, or type in the brand name of your device to its search box, and press enter.

Obviously to create your own entertainment center at home you need to have equipment but read this good article from Microsoft about creating your own version at home. http://www.microsoft.com/athome/video/entertainmentcenter.aspx#fbid=7vjK6LbjQ95

What is the best way for me to ensure that my TV will fit into an entertainment center prior to purchasing, bring home and assembling?

Be sure to properly measure your television. Just knowing the number of inches is not enough. Make sure to measure the height, width and depth accurately. Here is a site that will help further explain how to best ensure the right fit.

I just purchased a 52 inch phillips tv and the stand that the tv sits on adds 2 inches which doesn't allow the tv to fit in my entertainment center. What can I do?? I need a shorter stand...

Just take off the stand altogether if you can lay the TV close enough to a solid vertical support.

My 47'' Philips spent about a year without a stand sitting on a desk and leaning on a wall.

It's heavy enough and as you approach to completely vertical position its main force will be pointing down, not forward.

If you can't lean it on anything solid or if it doesn't sit well while in an entertainment center...not sure what I'd suggest....short of adjustable wall mount stands...

O S disc, Toshiba L35-S1054

No unfortunately XP home and XP media edition are different but not completely. The only difference is the entertainment factor like TV control and live recording and pausing , viewing photos etc and media center is considered to be a bit more secure than XP home but i find this just a wrong perception of people as i also have XP home and also had media center, makes no difference at all regarding security but yes if u want much more features or facilities as far as entertainment is considered media center edition is far more good than XP home.......
IF U INSTALL XP HOME THAT DOES NOT MEAN U INSTALLED XP MEDIA CENTER
Now there are 2 ways to solve ur problem
1. Either get a NEW disc from microsoft or any computer shop for media center and then install it.
OR
2. Install XP home on your system and then try to put the CD for media center , it will update XP to media center . In this way u will get the media center back and u will also not lose any previous stored data.
NOTE: In both the above cases u will have to get the CD for Media center......
Wat matters is losing the data that is already stored on your system.
BUT AGAIN I WOULD LIKE TO REMIND HERE IS THAT INSTALLING XP HOME WILL NOT GET BACK U TO MEDIA CENTER AS THEY ARE DIFFERENT BUT IT MAKES NOT DIFFERENCE WHETHER IT IS XP HOME OR MEDIA CENTER AS ONLY DIFFERENCE IS ENTERTAINMENT>>> IN THE WORLD THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE USING XP HOME THAN MEDIA CENTER>>>

I would recommend to cont. with XP home
