Re: I have the same problem but five beeps.
Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off.
I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with
the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the
printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

The problem is, with cannon catridges, you have to add ink (refill) before they run out. If your printer beeped at you and said "the printer is out of ink", and you refill the catridge then, It will not work. There is a float inside and once the float is no longer "floating in ink," it blocks the path where the ink would normally go wwhen it was working.... It is Cannons way of preventing the customer from attehttp://www.justanswer.com/new-question/optional-information.aspx?tqid=299572818&gadget=Falsemting to refil the ink cartridge on their own....
Is it the original Hp catridge or you refilled it..???? you've replaced the black... so no problem with black.... color catridge would have dried... so remove th color catridge and wipe thi lower part gently with a wet cloth....!!!
Your color i.e. Yellow & Cyan were functioned well but Your Color i.e. Magenta is not functioned will.. so remove the catridge and refill the Magenda and after refilling rub the catridge head with a soft paper untill the magenta is over flow.. after that your printer will print better. .. thanks
Normally, new catridge has a thin layer close the output of the ink. See that thing. If it close, pull it over, Or. May be the catridge is not suitable with the printer. May be the the catridge is quite old and the ink is dry, if it is refill catridge, put several drop of hot water in it. Hope this may help.
This is deffinately due to catridge circuit problem.Canon suggest that we have to replace emptied catridges with new genuine canon catridge they dont suggest refilling and also not give any support for refilling catridges. So you can replace catridge with new one.
This Happens due to weakining of catridge circuit portion or may long period printer not in use.
If you not want to replace catridges i will give you the possible hints it may fix refilled catridges.
1.Clean the catridge circuit portion with soft cloth, care must be taken that there is no smudge or ink traces on catridge circuit.
2.Clean the ciruit of printer catridge placing box present inside the printer .wipe out the any sumdge or ink traces.
Then re install the catridges. give the print if it shows error press resume button continuosly. I think it will fix your problem.
If it is not solution is replace the catridge with new one.
The only work around to this is to use two catridges(2 color and 2 black and white). The reason is the printer has a mechanism to check if the same catridge is being used again. SO when you have two cartridges when one is finished refill the other and use and vice-versa. This way you will be able to refill and use for ever without any problems..
